MWP: UCSD Ranked No. 14 in Preseason Poll

The UC San Diego men's water polo team will begin the 2008 year ranked at No. 14, according to the Men's Varsity Preseason Poll.    California, which downed the University of Southern California 8-6 in the NCAA Championship Game to capture the 2007 National Championship, will look to defend its title as the Bears enter the new season as the #1 team in the nation according to the pollsters.  The Tritons return 11 letterwinners in addition to senior redshirt ACWP All-Americans Adnan Jerkovic and A.J. MSOC: Tritons Picked to Finish Third in South Division as CCAA Unveils Preseason Poll

The UC San Diego men's soccer team was chosen to finish third in the California Collegiate Athletic Association South Division according to a preseason coaches' poll released Tuesday by the league office. Sonoma State, which captured the 2007 Division II Men's Soccer Far West Region title, has been tabbed out of the North Division to win the 2008 CCAA Championship. In the South Division, the conference's head coaches voted Cal State Dominguez Hills as the No. 1 squad with 10 first place votes and a total of 49 points.
