Junior Lisa Bradley, one of three captains on the 2009 UC San Diego women's soccer team, earned All-America First Team honors in a National Soccer Coaches Association of American announcement Friday. Bradley, of Martinez, Calif., contributed as both a midfielder and defender during 2009. The lone junior starter, Bradley stepped up as a leader on the young Tritons' squad and often marked the opposition's top scorer toward the end of the regular season and into the playoffs. In regards to postseason honors, Bradley has gradually risen up the ranks. Five Tritons Named to Far West All-Region First Team
Five members of the UC San Diego women's soccer team earned regional accolades, National Soccer Coaches Association of America officials announced Monday. Kristin Armstrong, Lisa Bradley, Sarah McTigue, Anne Wethe and Jessica Wi were selected to the Far West All-Region First Team. The Tritons finished their 2009 season at 15-5-2, while playing freshmen and sophomores at 10 of the 11 starting spots. After earning a first-round bye in the NCAA Division II Tournament, UCSD topped Chico State 2-1 before the Tritons' campaign ended on a penalty kick shootout with Cal State Dominguez Hills.
