The UC San Diego men's and women's swimming teams completed the four-day National Championships in Buffalo, New York on Saturday evening. The women's 400 free relay team of Liz Whiteley, Shannon Simonds, Aubrey Panis and Emily Harlan finished second overall with a time of 3:28.31, giving the Triton women's team a third-place national finish. The Triton men's 400 free relay wrapped up the NCAA's with a third place finish, locking the Triton men into a fifth-place national finish. Also scoring well for the Triton men on the final day was in the 100 free where Tim Fuller and Dan Perdew finished fourth and fifth, respectively. || CONTINUE
Evan Hsiao Wins National Title in the 100 Breast at the NCAA Championships in Buffalo
The UC San Diego men's and women's swimming teams completed the third day of the four day NCAA Division II National Championships on Friday night in Buffalo, N.Y. Evan Hsiao headlined the day for the Tritons, becoming a National Champion in the 100 breast. Hsiao raced to a time of 55.51, taking first-place in the event. The UCSD women's team stands in third place after the third day of competition with 243 points. The women's team leader is Drury with 478 points. The Triton men's team is in fifth place overall with 204 points. Other notable finishes for the UCSD women came in the 200 fly as Jennifer Sims finished in third place, while Karla Holman finished eighth in the same event. Kendall Bohn finished eighth in the 100 breast and Shannon Simonds won the consolation final in the 500 free. || CONTINUE
