Tritons' Trip to Arizona Features Six Opponents in Four Days

The UC San Diego men's tennis team is set to begin what will likely be its busiest week of the season, playing six opponents in a span of four days. The Tritons (0-1), ranked 35th nationally in the Intercollegiate Athletic Association (ITA) preseason Division II poll, will start their week with a 3 p.m. match on Thursday with Glendale Community College. The Gauchos of Glendale finished at No. 8 in the 2009 ITA National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) final poll. After Thursday's contest in Glendale, Ariz., UCSD will make the short drive to Phoenix to compete in Grand Canyon's Paseo Tournament that runs from Friday to Sunday as part of President's Day weekend. Match Between UC San Diego and Azusa Pacific Canceled

The UC San Diego men's tennis road match with Azusa Pacific on Saturday has been canceled due to inclement weather. A date to reschedule has not been set. On Monday the Tritons lost its season opener, 6-3, to Concordia Irvine. This coming week, UCSD will travel to Arizona to challenge Glendale Community College Thursday before competing in a Division II tournament hosted by Grand Canyon University that runs from Friday to Sunday.
