Matt Bowen - Track & Field

Freshman Matt Bowen earned first-team All-America status Friday at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a sixth-place finish in the triple jump. The Fresno product, making his NCAA Championships debut, leapt 49’11” in his third attempt during the first flight, qualifying him in seventh among nine competitors advancing to the finals, which granted him three more attempts. He improved his distance and standing with the three extra tries, jumping a personal-record 50’5.25” on his fifth attempt.

Savanna Forry - Track & Field

Savanna Forry tied for 11th in the high jump with a clearance of 5’5” last Friday at the NCAA Division II Track & Field Championships in Allendale, Mich. The sophomore out of Porter Ranch, at her first NCAA meet, decided to pass on the starting height of 5’3” and cleared the next height, 5’5”, in one attempt. She took three jumps at 5’7”, but knocked the bar off all three times. Forry, one of three Triton women in Michigan, earned a spot on the USTFCCCA All-America Second Team for her ninth-through-12th placement.

Alon Leichman - Baseball

Alon Leichman pitched the UCSD baseball team into the championship game of the NCAA West Regional in Walnut on Monday. The junior right-hander got the ball for an elimination contest against Azusa Pacific and went 5.2 innings, allowing just one run on a first-inning home run, and five hits total without a walk. He struck out four. The Tritons topped the Cougars, 5-3, before ultimately falling to top-seeded host Cal Poly Pomona later in the day. The native of Israel had appeared just once since April 18.

Brandon Shirley - Baseball

Brandon Shirley was one of three Tritons to make the All-Tournament Team of the NCAA West Regional, doing so for the second year in a row. The redshirt sophomore out of Los Angeles was the table-setter all week for UCSD from the leadoff position in the order, batting .353 (6-for-17) with a .500 on-base percentage (4 BB, 3 HBP). He scored six runs, drove in five, stole a base, and played flawless defense (12 putouts) in center field as UCSD went 3-2. Shirley was 2-for-3 with two RBI in Monday's win over APU.

Justin Donatella - Baseball

Justin Donatella tossed eight more shutout frames for No. 30 UCSD in a 5-2 win over Cal State Monterey Bay to open the 2015 CCAA Championship in Stockton last Thursday night. The junior right-hander allowed just two hits and two walks while striking out nine to increase his CCAA-leading total to 103. Donatella (9-2) lowered his league-best ERA to 0.78, which ranks fifth in Division II. He was earlier Thursday named the CCAA Most Valuable Pitcher, and leads UCSD into a second straight NCAA West Regional this week.

Laurel Kistler - Water Polo

Laurel Kistler was named to the NCAA All-Tournament Second Team Sunday after recording four goals, four assists and six ejections drawn at the 2015 NCAA Championship. The junior was the Tritons' top scorer for the 14th time this season in the consolation round Saturday, tallying two goals. With her weekend performance, she tied the 10th-place mark on UCSD's single-season goals (68) list, and finished seventh on the steals (64) and assists (54) lists. Kistler also led in field blocks (19) and ejections drawn (54).

Dan Golubovic - Track & Field

Redshirt sophomore Dan Golubovic was responsible for 23 of UCSD's 216 points at the 2015 CCAA Championships, hosted by SF State last week. The Manhattan Beach native helped the Tritons snap rival Chico State's 11-year reign atop the conference, edging out the Wildcats by three points in a dramatic finish for the program's first league title. Golubovic placed third in the javelin (180'8"), fourth in the 110 hurdles (15.28), fifth in the high jump (6'4.75"), fifth in the pole vault (15'7.25"), and fifth in the discus (139'11").

Chantia Justice - Track & Field

Senior Chantia Justice won the first conference title of her four-year Triton career in the triple jump at the 2015 CCAA Championships, which took place in San Francisco last Thursday through Saturday. The La Quinta product matched her season-best mark of 39'2.5" on her second-to-last attempt, on the meet's last day on Saturday, contributing 10 points toward UCSD's third-place team total. Justice will now look to improve her existing NCAA provisional qualifier at the Cal State L.A. Last Chance Qualifier this Saturday, March 9.

JV8 - Rowing

In their last race of the season, the UC San Diego JV8 crew consisting of sophomore coxswain Drake Lem (pictured), Sean Callaghan, Alec Petty, Jackson Lytle, Bryan Brennan, Frank Chang, Sam Merrill-Palethorpe, Hank Wong and Jon Baker won the Grand Final with a time of 6:18.8 Sunday at the 2015 Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association (WIRA) Championships. The two-day regatta was held on Lake Natoma in the Sacramento area. The boat won its heat Saturday in a time of 6:33.9.

Jolene Guiliana - Water Polo

Jolene Guiliana led UCSD to a third straight WWPA title this past weekend. The senior attacker recorded a hat trick in both games to be named WWPA Championship MVP. In Saturday's semifinal against CSUMB, Guiliana recorded three goals, three assists and seven steals. She added three goals and an assist in Sunday's 10-8 triumph over East Bay. As the conference’s automatic qualifier, UCSD hosts Whittier in a play-in game Saturday, with the hopes of reaching the NCAA Championship for the third consecutive season.

Justin Donatella - Baseball

Junior right-hander Justin Donatella tossed eight more shutout innings in No. 24 UCSD's 11-0 win at Cal State Stanislaus last Friday night, allowing just two hits and a hit batter while striking out six without a walk. He retired the first 12 Warriors and turned in six perfect frames in all. Donatella (8-1) leads the CCAA in wins, ERA (0.55) and strikeouts (88), and is up to third nationally in ERA with a mark that would constitute both a CCAA (0.98) and school (1.29) single-season record. UCSD is a perfect 9-0 in his CCAA starts.

Veronica Bradley - Track & Field

Veronica Bradley grabbed an NCAA provisional qualifier in the heptathlon with 4433 points at the California Invitational, hosted by Azusa Pacific last Wednesday and Thursday. The senior Richland, Wash. native excelled in the 800, scoring 742 points with a 2:26.13 performance, and the 200, running 26.66 to score 740. UC San Diego and Triton Track & Field Stadium will host the annual Triton Invitational this Friday and Saturday, April 24-25. Bradley competes in her next heptathlon at the CCAA Championships, April 30-May 1.

Justin Donatella - Baseball

Justin Donatella added to an incredible junior season with six more shutout innings in Friday night's series-opening 8-0 victory for UCSD at home against Cal State Monterey Bay. The right-hander out of Saugus held the fourth-place Otters scoreless on just four hits, all singles, one walk and one hit-by-pitch. He struck out a season-high 12, falling one short of his career best of 13 from a year ago, which stands as UCSD's Division II-era record. Donatella continues to lead the CCAA in wins (7), ERA (0.63) and strikeouts (82).

Britta Mosser - Tennis

Britta Mosser put together a strong week on the courts for the 17th-ranked Tritons, going 3-1 in doubles play and 2-2 in singles. Mosser and partner Kyra Scott, ranked 14th nationally in doubles, earned victories against West Region rivals from No. 18 Azusa Pacific, No. 22 Cal State L.A. and No. 25 Point Loma. The duo is 14-7 this season, playing all 21 matches in the No. 1 position. Mosser’s singles victories came in straight sets against Point Loma and CSULA. The sophomore from Malibu leads UCSD in wins (16-8).

Mario Flores - Track & Field

Senior Mario Flores won the 3000 steeplechase at Saturday's California Collegiate Invitational, hosted by UCSD at Triton Track & Field Stadium, crossing the finish line in 9:18.58. The performance was a lifetime best, an NCAA provisional qualifier, and moved the La Mirada native up to fifth on UCSD's all-time list in the event. Flores helped the Tritons win the team competition, as they scored 207 points to get past Long Beach State (161.83). UCSD is at the Mangrum Invitational in San Marcos this Saturday, April 11.

Bianca Devoto - Softball

Bianca Devoto’s bat was crucial in UCSD’s big series victory at Chico State last weekend. In Friday's opener, her pinch-hit, bases-loaded walk in the eighth forced in the lone run of a 1-0 shutout. The sophomore then started Saturday's first game and had an RBI double in the first before once again accounting for the game-winner with a two-out, two-run double in the 10th. For that game, she went 4-for-6 with three RBI and a run. Devoto finished the weekend hitting .625 (5-for-8) with two doubles, four RBI and three walks.

Troy Cruz - Baseball

Troy Cruz tossed a season-high eight complete innings in winning his fourth straight start at Sonoma State on Sunday as No. 17 UCSD clinched another conference series, three games to one, while strengthening its place atop the league standings. The junior out of Chula Vista allowed three runs on six hits and just one walk, striking out six. Cruz retired 13 batters in a row from the second to the sixth, and dialed up a huge 4-6-3 double play to end the seventh with the tying run at third base. He is 5-2 with a 2.55 ERA on the season.

Ellexi Snover - Track & Field

Ellexi Snover was first among collegians and second overall in the invitational javelin Saturday at the SDSU Aztec Invitational. She improved on her NCAA provisional qualifier and moved up to No. 4 all-time at UCSD with a throw of 143'5". The Villa Park native ran a leg on the invitational 4x400 relay, helping her foursome to a third-place finish in 3:47.84. Snover also placed third in the open 400 on Friday, running a personal-best 57.08. The Tritons host the California Collegiate Invitational this Saturday starting at 10 a.m.

David Hadler - Fencing

Freshman foilist David Hadler placed 14th of 24 competitors at the 2015 National Collegiate Championships last week at Ohio State. The San Francisco native earned several impressive victories, including a 5-0 win against Notre Dame’s Ariel DeSmet, the 2011 national champion and 2015 semifinalist. Hadler also defeated NCAA West Region rival Alex Chiang, an All-American fencer from Air Force. Hadler’s 14th-place showing was the highest for the Tritons since the 2009 season.

Emma Schneider - Softball

Catcher and first baseman Emma Schneider shined in Sunday’s doubleheader at Cal State Dominguez Hills. After entering the day with one home run on the year, the Carlsbad native hit a homer in both games. Schneider’s three home runs not only matched her career high, but put her in a two-way tie for the team lead with freshman Kelsi Maday. Additionally, Schneider went 3-for-3 in the series opener while driving in both of UCSD’s runs. The sophomore is hitting .282, slugging .449, and is third on the squad with 11 RBI.

Michael Cohn - Swimming & Diving

Michael Cohn earned All-America distinction while lowering his school record in the 200-yard backstroke at his first NCAA Division II Championships in Indianapolis over the weekend. The sophomore Solana Beach native rallied from seventh to fourth in his preliminary heat in 1:45.85 to get under his own standard (1:46.04) before rallying from eighth to fourth in the championship final in 1:45.91. Cohn also swam on the 200 and 400 medley relays, as well as the 800 free relay, all of which earned All-America honorable mention.

Colleen Daley - Swimming & Diving

Colleen Daley was a three-time All-American with a trio of top-eight finishes in relay events at her third NCAA Championships last week in Indianapolis. The junior co-captain out of Sacramento is now a 10-time All-American for her career. She anchored the fifth-place 200 medley and 400 free relays, while leading off the sixth-place 200 free relay. Daley also qualified for the consolation final of the 50 free (12th, 23.26), and anchored the ninth-place 400 medley relay. She helped lead the Tritons to a sixth-place team finish.

Jack Larsen - Baseball

Jack Larsen was No. 16 UCSD's top offensive player during a four-game home sweep of then-20th-ranked archrival Chico State this past weekend. The sophomore outfielder out of Mission Viejo hit .500 (7-for-14) with three doubles, his first career triple, and seven RBI, slugging .857 with a .500 on-base percentage. Larsen produced his second four-hit game as a Triton to open Saturday's doubleheader, going 4-for-5 with two runs and three RBI. He hit a two-run triple and scored in a three-run first inning in the nightcap.

Anneke Kakebeen - Track & Field

Anneke Kakebeen took first and shattered her own school record by more than 10 seconds in the 3000 steeplechase with a time of 11:03.84 at the All-UC Championships on Saturday at Triton Track & Field Stadium. The mark was also good enough for an NCAA provisional qualifier. The senior from La Crescenta helped the Tritons to a runner-up team finish, narrowly being edged out by UC Santa Barbara, 169-160. UCSD stays at home to host the San Diego Collegiate Challenge this Saturday, March 14, starting at 12 p.m.

Justin Donatella - Baseball

Justin Donatella tossed a one-hit shutout at Cal State East Bay last Friday to get UCSD off to a third straight series victory to begin the CCAA slate. The junior right-hander struck out a season-high 11 without a walk, facing two over the minimum with the Pioneers managing just a single in the fifth and a hit-by-pitch in the seventh. Donatella retired the first 14 batters in a row and made 98 pitches in what was his first career complete game. He has won all three of his CCAA starts without allowing a single run in 21 complete frames.

Kyra Scott - Tennis

Junior Kyra Scott led No. 15 UCSD to two road wins last week. The Tritons blanked Concordia, 9-0, on Thursday in Irvine before taking a 6-3 decision at No. 23 CSULA Saturday. Scott won both singles matches and both doubles tilts with partner Britta Mosser. Scott, who is ranked 22nd nationally, extended her win streak at No. 1 singles to eight as she defeated CSULA’s Nozomi Matsuoka, 6-4, 6-1. Additionally, the 14th-ranked duo of Scott and Mosser took their fifth win of the season with an 8-5 victory against the Golden Eagles.

Chandler Pourvahidi - Swimming & Diving

Chandler Pourvahidi was the Male Swimmer of the Meet at the 2015 PCSC Championships in La Mirada last week, as the top point-getter with 92 from his two wins and one second-place finish. The sophomore won his first conference title in the 1000 free in meet-record fashion (9:11.40) on Wednesday, and added a first-place effort in the 500 free Thursday night in a school-record and A cut time of 4:24.04. Pourvahidi was second in the 1650 free (15:36.62). The Tritons as a team earned their seventh straight PCSC title.

Stephanie Sin - Swimming & Diving

Stephanie Sin was the Female Co-Swimmer of the Meet at the 2015 PCSC Championships in La Mirada last week, as the joint top point-getter with 92 from her two wins and one second-place finish. The freshman won her first conference title in the 1000 free in meet- and school-record fashion (10:07.10) in her PCSC debut on Wednesday, and added a first-place effort in the 1650 free Saturday, also in school-record time (16:55.65). Sin was second in the 500 (4:57.20). The Tritons as a team earned their seventh straight PCSC title.

Matt Bowen - Track & Field

Matt Bowen won the triple jump event at his first collegiate meet, the Soka Peace Invitational, in Aliso Viejo on Saturday, achieving a top distance of 49'11.25". It already ranks No. 2 all-time in UCSD history, just off the school record of 51'9". The mark also was good enough to be an NCAA provisional qualifier, by over two full feet (47'9.25"), but marks do not yet count for outdoor track. The distance would have sent him to the 2014 NCAA Division II Championships. The Fresno product also placed second in the long jump.

Hannah Duarte - Softball

UCSD turned to pitcher Hannah Duarte three times this weekend en route to a four-game series sweep of CCAA foe SF State. Duarte picked up two wins and a save to help the Tritons extend their win streak to nine. The junior started Friday's series opener, working 6.1 innings and allowing just five hits and two walks while fanning five in a 4-1 victory. Duarte completed the series with a 0.00 ERA, giving up just one unearned run and six hits while striking out seven batters in 12.2 innings. She leads the CCAA (tied) with her five wins.

Dan Kolodin - Baseball

Dan Kolodin excelled in two appearances last week. The fourth-year senior right-hander first made his 2015 debut as No. 15 UCSD's starter Monday night, earning the decision during a 12-5 victory over Western Oregon. He went the first 5.0 innings, allowing a pair of runs on three singles and two walks, while striking out six. Kolodin then came on in relief Friday night in a 2-0 loss to fifth-ranked Colorado Mesa, taking over for five no-hit innings. He struck out five without allowing a ball out of the infield, retiring 15 of the 16 batters he faced.

Mo Omori - Softball

Mo Omori shined in the circle in UCSD’s opening week, which featured a four-game home sweep of Saint Martin’s. The senior right-hander made five appearances with two starts, posting a 0.44 ERA over 16.0 innings. Her most impressive outing came in the finale against the Saints on Sunday, when she dealt her first complete game, giving up just one run on six hits while striking out two batters in a 2-1 victory. Omori recorded her first win in game two against SMU on Saturday, and also picked up a save in Saturday's opener.

Adam Klie - Basketball

Adam Klie recorded his first career double-double this past Friday, scoring 12 points and adding 11 rebounds in a 65-54 win against CCAA opponent Cal State East Bay. His rebound total was a career-best and equaled a team season-high. The next night, Klie led all Tritons by scoring 17 points in an 84-61 league victory over Cal State Monterey Bay. He made eight of his 11 shots from the field. The sophomore guard has netted double-digit points in 12 of 18 games and leads the Tritons with his .622 shooting percentage.

McKennan Bertsch - Basketball

McKennan Bertsch averaged 15 points on 86.6 percent (13-15) shooting and 5.5 rebounds in two wins against Cal State East Bay and Cal State Monterey Bay. The forward went for 11 points, going 71.4 percent (5-7) from the field, and added five boards in a 64-60 win over the Pioneers on Friday. The following day, she scored a game-best 19 points, shooting perfect from the field (8-8), and grabbed six rebounds in a 73-56 victory against CSUMB. Bertsch improved her league-best field goal percentage to 71.3 percent.

David Hadler - Fencing

David Hadler earned a victory for UCSD this past Sunday at the San Diego Cup. In the Open Foil division, the freshman topped the 32-competitor field, going 6-0 in pool round bouts and cruising through the direct elimination rounds. Hadler, from San Francisco, defeated Dillon Cook of Coeur Du Lion Fencing Club, 15-8, in the title match-up. The Tritons, who are receiving votes in the most recent national poll (CollegeFencing360.com), are next in action Jan. 31-Feb. 1 against top competition at the Northwestern Duals in Evanston, Ill.

Alexis Wieseler - Water Polo

Alexis Wieseler led the charge as No. 13 UCSD claimed two wins against top-20 opponents at the UCSB Winter Invite this past weekend. The junior two-meter defender recorded 10 goals, three assists and 10 steals in Santa Barbara. Additionally, Wieseler was the leading scorer for UCSD in all four games. The Tritons got off to a slow start with two defeats Saturday, but came back Sunday to top No. 17 Michigan, 9-5, and upset No. 11 Long Beach State, 8-6. UCSD (2-2) next hosts Hartwick at Canyonview on Feb. 5 at 7 p.m.

Aleks Lipovic - Basketball

Aleks Lipovic was instrumental in leading UCSD to two big CCAA wins on the road last week. Against Cal State L.A., the sophomore guard netted a game-high 15 points as he was 5-for-6 from three-point range. He also grabbed four rebounds in 24 minutes. The next night at Cal State Dominguez Hills, Lipovic again drilled five threes to finish with a team-best 15 points in 25 minutes. UCSD has won its last five games, its longest streak since 2008-09. The Tritons host Cal State San Bernardino and Humboldt State this week.

Megan Gesner - Fencing

Megan Gesner had a successful day in sabre to help the UCSD women win a Western Conference title Saturday at the Western Invitational, hosted by Air Force in Colorado Springs. The junior posted a 12-4 record in her bouts as the Tritons topped Air Force (15-12), Caltech (25-2) and Stanford (17-10) to earn the championship. Gesner went undefeated against Air Force, Brandeis and Caltech. She was 2-1 in bouts versus Stanford. The Sacramento native is next in action at the San Diego Open on Jan. 25.

Adam Klie - Basketball

Adam Klie helped lead UCSD to a pair of huge league wins this past week. Against SF State, the sophomore guard totaled a game co-high 20 points, making six of seven shots from the field and seven of 12 free throws. Klie led all players with eight rebounds and added an assist and a steal. He netted 14 points to go along with four boards, an assist and a steal in 19 minutes against Sonoma State. Klie, from Anchorage, Alaska, made five of his seven shots against the Seawolves. UCSD now takes its three-game win streak on the road.

Austine Lee - Swimming & Diving

Austine Lee was fourth-ranked UCSD's standout performer in two comfortable dual-meet victories over Division I opponents LMU and CSU Bakersfield Saturday in Los Angeles. Individually, the sophomore swept the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke races in 1:05.65 and 2:22.24, respectively, and posted the second-best time in the 50 freestyle (24.16). The Fremont native also led off the first-place 200 medley relay (1:46.91). The Tritons' Senior Day meet at Canyonview is slated for a 12 p.m. start this Saturday, Jan. 17.

Jack Galvan - Swimming & Diving

Jack Galvan helped guide the No. 7 UCSD men to a 3-2 record in duals last week, with a pair of wins over ranked opposition and both losses against Division I foes. The senior co-captain swept the sprint freestyle events (21.11, 46.24) and led off the first-place 400 free relay on Sunday with a stellar split of 46.02. Galvan was faster in the individual sprints in all three meets for the week, with the Riverside native producing four third-place efforts on Saturday (21.18, 46.63) and Monday (21.36, 47.06). Senior Day for the Tritons is on Jan. 17.

Farrah Shokoor - Basketball

Farrah Shokoor averaged 23 points and 12 rebounds in two big home wins. The forward recorded her fifth double-double going for 22 points, 15 rebounds, three assists, five steals and two blocks in an 81-68 decision Friday over Stanislaus. The San Diego native backed up the performance the following night with 24 points on 90.9 percent (10-11) shooting, nine boards, four assists, four steals and a block in only 23 minutes in an 86-57 rout against Chico State. The Tritons look for a fourth straight win at home Friday at 5:30 p.m.

Aleks Lipovic - Basketball

Aleks Lipovic scored a team-high 16 points Sunday in a narrow, 63-62, loss against league-favorite Cal Poly Pomona. A sophomore guard, he collected a majority of his total via three-pointers, draining five in the Tritons’ home opener. Lipovic also added three rebounds, two assists and a steal in 33 minutes of floor time. The Dana Point native is averaging 9.4 points and 1.8 rebounds over eight games. Following a holiday break, UCSD will play its next four games at home, starting with CCAA opponent Cal State Stanislaus on Jan. 2.

Farrah Shokoor - Basketball

Farrah Shokoor posted her fourth double-double with a game-high 28 points on 83 percent (10-12) shooting and team-high 15 rebounds in a 62-50 win over defending CCAA champion Cal Poly Pomona Sunday at home. The junior forward has gone for 10 or more rebounds now in six of UCSD's nine games and leads the CCAA in defensive rebounds, total rebounds and rebounds per game. The Tritons' next game comes in the new year when they host Cal State Stanislaus on Friday, Jan. 2. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.

Hunter Walker - Basketball

Hunter Walker poured in a game-high 18 points and grabbed a team-best five rebounds in a 76-70 loss at 17th-ranked California Baptist Friday. The junior guard was 7-for-12 from the floor and 3-for-4 from the free throw line, adding an assist and a steal. He currently leads the Tritons in scoring, averaging 12.9 points/game. In addition, Walker has a team-high 17 assists and is shooting .492. After nine straight games on the road, UCSD finally opens its home season this Sunday, hosting league-favorite Cal Poly Pomona at 4 p.m.

Farrah Shokoor - Basketball

Farrah Shokoor recorded her third double-double of the season with team highs of 15 points and 10 rebounds in an 82-71 loss at 25th-ranked defending league champion and preseason favorite Cal Poly Pomona Friday. The San Diego native leads the CCAA in rebounding and is 17th in the nation, averaging 11.6 boards per game. Shokoor has gone for 10 or more rebounds in five of UCSD's eight contests. The Tritons return home to RIMAC Arena to conclude their season series with CPP this Sunday, Dec. 21, at 2 p.m.

Joe Dietrich - Water Polo

Joe Dietrich was fourth-seeded and sixth-ranked UCSD’s leading scoring in both games of the 2014 NCAA Championship this past weekend at Canyonview Aquatic Center. The senior two-meter scored two goals in Saturday's semifinal match-up with top-seeded eventual national champion UCLA, and four more in the third-place game against Stanford on Sunday. The Lafayette native recorded his third hat trick of the season in his final match as a Triton. UCSD finished fourth in the NCAA Championship.

Marie Diaz - Cross Country

Marie Diaz placed 76th out of 249 competitors at the NCAA Championships in Louisville, Ky. this past Saturday, completing the six-kilometer course at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park in a time of 22:40.7. The junior out of San Leandro was the first runner to cross the finish line for the UC San Diego women's cross country team. It was the first time since 2007 that the Tritons qualified for the national meet, as UCSD placed 21st out of 32 teams. Diaz will be among a strong core of returners for head coach Nate Garcia next season.

Josh Stiling - Water Polo

Senior Josh Stiling led No. 6 UCSD to a 12-7 win against No. 9 Brown in the NCAA Championship play-in game on Saturday. The Beaverton, Ore., native tallied an impressive six goals, which tied his season high set on Sept. 26 against Fresno Pacific. Stiling paces the team with 67 goals and has been the top scorer in 17 matches this season. With Saturday’s win, the Tritons earned a berth into the national semifinals. UCSD, host of the 2014 NCAA Championship, will play top-seeded UCLA on Dec. 6 at 1 p.m. at Canyonview.

Miranda Seto - Basketball

Miranda Seto averaged 19 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game over the two-day UCSD Thanksgiving Classic at RIMAC Arena to earn a spot on the All-Tournament Team. The senior guard out of Redwood City dropped in 15 points on Friday in a losing effort against Academy of Art, 84-74. On Saturday, Seto contributed a game-high 23 points in a 62-49 win over Azusa Pacific. UCSD will now hit the road to open up CCAA play at Cal State Monterey Bay and Cal State East Bay this Friday and Saturday, both at 5:30 p.m.

Cameron Ravanbach - Water Polo

Goalie Cameron Ravanbach was named the WWPA Tournament MVP for the second straight year as he helped UCSD win its 17th WWPA title on Sunday. The senior co-captain excelled in both games this weekend, first making 12 stops in the Tritons' 15-9 semifinal victory Saturday over CBU. The La Jolla native added 16 saves in Sunday's championship game, holding rival LMU to just one goal in the first half of a 12-6 triumph. With the result, UCSD received the league's qualifier into the 2014 NCAA Championship.

Paige Hughes - Cross Country

Paige Hughes placed 16th in the NCAA West Regionals hosted by MSU Billings in Billings, Mont., this past Saturday to earn All-West Region honors for the second year in a row. The junior from San Diego (Valhalla HS) completed the six-kilometer course at Amend Park in 22:01.88 to lead the Tritons to a fourth-place team finish in front of a trio of nationally-ranked programs, and in the process, punch a ticket to the NCAA Championships on Saturday, Dec. 6 at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky.

Cameron McElfresh - Soccer

Junior goalkeeper Cameron McElfresh had one of his best games as a Triton in a first-round contest of the 2014 NCAA Championship on Thursday night, Nov. 13, in Azusa. Up against 14th-ranked league rival Cal State L.A., the Palo Alto native matched his career high with six saves through 110 minutes of regulation and overtime, before making two more critical stops during the penalty-kick tiebreaker, including an incredible effort in round five to keep Triton hopes alive. UCSD was ultimately eliminated, 5-4.

Miranda Seto - Basketball

Senior guard Miranda Seto led her team to an 89-84 overtime victory over the University of Mary (ND) to open the new season at the 2014 Tip-Off Classic hosted by Cal State San Bernardino on Saturday. In overtime, Seto was clutch as she scored five of her team-high 20 points, including a go-ahead layup with 2:12 left to put the Tritons on top for good. The product of Redwood City also contributed six rebounds and four assists in 39 minutes. UCSD is at the West Region Crossover Classic in Bellingham, Wash., this weekend.

Tanner Collins - Cross Country

Tanner Collins was UC San Diego's top finisher on the men's side this past Saturday at the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Championships in San Bernardino. The senior from Aliso Viejo placed 10th overall with a time of 25:48.7 on the eight-kilometer course. Collins earned All-CCAA honors for his performance. The Tritons, who placed fourth as a team, travel to Billings, Mont., on Nov. 22 for the NCAA West Regionals.

Paige Hughes - Cross Country

Paige Hughes placed seventh to lead UC San Diego at the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Championships in San Bernardino this past Saturday. Hughes finished the six-kilometer course with a time of 22:49.7, just .1 in front of teammate Corinne Hinkle. The junior from San Diego (Valhalla HS) was named All-CCAA for her strong finish. The Tritons, who placed fourth as a team, travel to Billings, Mont., on Nov. 22 for the NCAA West Regionals.

Drew Dickinson - Fencing

Drew Dickinson went 12-0 in sabre to help the UCSD men’s fencing team sweep its competition at the Intercollegiate Fencing Conference of Southern California Duals, hosted by Caltech Sunday. The junior from El Dorado Hills put together an undefeated outing as the Tritons earned wins against UCLA, USC, UC Santa Barbara, UC Irvine and Pasadena City College. The foil squad went 42-3 in its bouts. UCSD wraps up its fall season by hosting the annual BladeRunner tournament at RIMAC Arena, Nov. 15-16.

Alina Marshall - Fencing

Foilist Alina Marshall recorded a perfect 11-0 record at Sunday’s Intercollegiate Fencing Conference of Southern California Duals, hosted by Caltech. The junior out of Bellevue, Wash., was a driving force behind UCSD sweeping its opponents. The Tritons defeated all five schools they faced in UCLA, USC, UC Santa Barbara, UC Irvine and Pasadena City College. Overall, the women’s foil contingent was 42-3 in its bouts. UCSD wraps up its fall season by hosting the annual BladeRunner tournament at RIMAC, Nov. 15-16.

Tareq Alwafai - Cross Country

Tareq Alwafai is now a two-time UCSDtritons.com weekly honoree for 2014 after placing second overall on his home course at the 22nd Annual Triton Classic Saturday morning on North Campus. The junior out of Aliso Viejo timed 26:18.3 over the eight kilometers to become the first collegiate runner to cross the finish line, behind only unattached Olympic triathlete Jarrod Shoemaker. Alwafai led the 12th-ranked Tritons to the team title, with UCSD now awaiting the 2014 CCAA Championships on Nov. 8 in San Bernardino.

Izzy Pozurama - Soccer

Izzy Pozurama scored both of UCSD's goals last weekend as the Tritons produced a pair of critical 1-0 road triumphs to take control of their own postseason fate. Pozurama's 83rd-minute strike from 10 yards out handed No. 15 Sonoma State its first home defeat of 2014 on Friday afternoon. On Sunday at Humboldt State, the Lake Forest product found the back of the net again from about 20 yards in the 57th minute. The fifth-year senior now leads the team with five goals on the season, with four of them game-winners.

Luca De Vivo - Water Polo

Senior Luca De Vivo completed his first hat trick as a Triton to lead No. 6 UCSD (9-8, 4-0) to a fourth straight WWPA victory, 12-9, against No. 18 California Baptist last Friday at Canyonview. His three goals all came at very timely moments. The Venezuelan’s first was the most crucial, coming with just 14 seconds left in the second quarter to give the Tritons a 4-3 lead at the half. He tallied his second early in the fourth, and his final goal capped the scoring with 1:39 left in the game, securing the win for UCSD.

Kelcie Brodsky - Soccer

Junior Kelcie Brodsky produced a pair of shutouts on the road this past weekend to help keep UCSD in contention for a postseason berth in the CCAA. The Agoura Hills native first made six saves in a critical 1-0 win Friday at Cal State Monterey Bay, before adding four more stops in a scoreless draw Sunday at SF State. With 10 more saves over the 200 minutes of soccer, Brodsky increased her league-leading total to 65. The weekend marked the first time in 2014 that Brodsky and her Tritons kept back-to-back clean sheets.

Cameron Ravanbach - Water Polo

Senior goalie Cameron Ravanbach recorded 43 saves against four top-10 teams at the annual SoCal Tournament over the weekend, hosted by UCLA. Ravanbach started the weekend making 14 stops in an 8-7 win against No. 9 UC Irvine. The La Jolla native’s highlight of the tournament came on Sunday morning against No. 6 UC Santa Barbara, as he notched 10 stops while holding the sixth-ranked team to just four goals in a 9-4 win. The Tritons placed fifth out of a 16-team field featuring all nationally-ranked teams.

Danielle Dahle - Volleyball

Danielle Dahle was instrumental in helping UCSD to two big home sweeps against league opponents. The junior outside hitter had a contest-high 12 points in the Reis Cup match vs. Cal State Monterey Bay, collecting team bests with 11 kills and 15 digs. Dahle was named MVP of the Reis Cup for the second straight year. The next night, she hit .429 against Cal State East Bay with nine kills and no errors in 21 attacks. She finished the week at .365 hitting with just one error in 52 attempts. Dahle led the Tritons in digs for the week.

Brandon Bauman - Soccer

Brandon Bauman assisted on two of UCSD's goals in a 4-0 home thrashing of Cal State San Bernardino on Friday night, including what went down as the ninth-minute game-winner from a free kick. He added a second helper in the 75th minute, also via right-sided free kick. The senior out of Huntington Beach then struck in the 85th minute for the lone goal at rival Chico State on Sunday, marking his second decider in as many 1-0 road CCAA wins this season. He currently leads the team in goals (4), assists (6) and points (14).

Cassie Callahan - Soccer

Cassie Callahan volleyed in freshman teammate Jordyn McNutt's left-sided corner kick at the near post in the 80th minute Friday night to give UCSD a 1-0 upset of eighth-ranked and previously-undefeated Cal State San Bernardino. It was just the third goal scored against the Coyotes in 2014, Callahan's third on the year to tie her with McNutt for the team lead, and the 22nd of the Coronado product's four-year career. After thus earning their first CCAA win of the season, the Tritons drew 1-1 at Chico State on Sunday.

Tareq Alwafai - Cross Country

Tareq Alwafai was the first UCSD runner to cross the finish line at the 41st Annual Stanford Invitational this past Saturday, placing 16th overall, including NCAA Division I opponents. The junior Aliso Viejo native's time was 24:12 over eight kilometers at Stanford Golf Course. The No. 16 Tritons placed second in non-Division I scoring. UCSD now has some time off before hosting its annual Triton Classic on North Campus on Saturday, Oct. 25. The men's 8K is set to go off at 9 a.m., followed by the women's 6K at 9:50 a.m.

Kyra Scott and Britta Mosser - Tennis

Britta Mosser (right), a redshirt freshman out of Malibu, and Kyra Scott, a junior Irvine product, teamed up to advance to the doubles finals at the USTA/ITA West Regional Tennis Championships at Cal State L.A. The third-seeded duo defeated teams from Point Loma, Cal State L.A. and Academy of Art to make it into the title match. Mosser and Scott faced the top-seeded pair of Karen Liu and Dallas Zhang from BYU-Hawaii and fell in a hard-fought 8-6 decision. On the singles side, Scott played herself into the semifinals.

Josh Stiling - Water Polo

Josh Stiling led No. 8 UCSD with 10 goals at the annual KAP7 NorCal Classic Tournament over the weekend, hosted this year by Pacific in Stockton. The Tritons placed eighth out of a top 16-team field. Stiling had his first pair of goals in a key 10-9 triumph over No. 10 UC Irvine to get UCSD's tourney started on Saturday morning and keep the Tritons in the main draw. He added a game-high five in a 12-9 loss to No. 5 LBSU. Stiling, an Oregon native, is back to being the team's leading scorer after redshirting the 2013 season.

Kiera Bocchino - Soccer

Kiera Bocchino led UCSD to a much-needed 4-2 victory in a rare non-conference meeting with CCAA rival Cal State Dominguez Hills on the road last Friday night. Coming off the bench, the redshirt sophomore forward provided an accurate cross on what proved to be the game-winning goal by Cassie Callahan in the 72nd minute, before heading home the insurance score in the 85th. It was the season's first goal for the Laguna Hills product. Now at 3-2, UCSD opens CCAA play in the coming weekend.

Alessandro Canale - Soccer

Senior striker Alessandro Canale totaled six points from two goals and two assists in leading UCSD (4-1) to three wins in six days last week. The Venice native helped set up both goals in a 2-1 victory at Point Loma on Tuesday, Sept. 9, before recording a first-half brace in Sunday's 4-0 home romp over another crosstown rival in Cal State San Marcos. It marked his first two-goal effort in a Triton uniform, and first two goals of the 2014 season. UCSD has two home games on tap this Thursday and Saturday, both at 7 p.m.

Caitlin Brenton - Volleyball

Caitlin Brenton put together two solid performances to help lead UCSD to a pair of home CCAA victories. Against Cal State Stanislaus, the senior opposite registered match-highs with 15 kills, a .464 attack percentage, three aces, five blocks and 20.5 points. The next night versus Chico State, she posted match-bests with 16 kills, .400 hitting, three aces, seven blocks and 23 points. For the week, Brenton hit .429 and averaged 3.9 kills, 1.5 blocks and 5.4 points/set.

Daniel Hauptman - Cross Country

Daniel Hauptman parlayed a strong preseason into a second-place effort at the season-opening California Baptist Lancer Invitational at Riverside's Rancho Jurupa Park on Saturday morning, Sept. 6. The senior from Santa Rosa timed 18:13.174 for the six-kilometer course to lead a pack of four Tritons among the first five runners across. The performance guided No. 21 UCSD to a first-place finish ahead of No. 25 host CBU and two other squads. The Tritons return to Riverside for the UC Riverside Invitational this Saturday, Sept. 13.

Corinne Hinkle - Cross Country

Corinne Hinkle was the top individual finisher at the third edition of the California Baptist Lancer Invitational at Rancho Jurupa Park in Riverside on Saturday morning, Sept. 6, timing 14:13.047 over four kilometers to top a field of 62 runners. The race marked the junior Cottonwood native's debut for the cross country team after spending the past two years solely with the track and field program. UCSD placed second behind 11th-ranked host CBU, and heads back to Riverside for the UC Riverside Invitational this Saturday, Sept. 13.
