Assistant Coach

Heidi Heintz was named an assistant coach with the UC San Diego women's basketball program in July of 2015.

The 2016-17 season saw the Tritons post a 17-3 CCAA and 23-7 overall record. UCSD advanced to the CCAA Tournament final where they fell to Cal State East Bay. The Tritons then traveled to Anchorage, Alaska where they faced fifth-seeded Simon Fraser in the first round. UCSD lost by the narrow margin of 65-69. Beth Mounier, Dalayna Sampton and Cassie MacLeod were named to All-CCAA teams. Sampton also took home the CCAA Newcomer of the Year accolade.

In 2015-16, the Tritons posted an 18-2 CCAA and 26-5 overall record. She was instrumental in helping the Tritons get to the CCAA Tournament final before being eliminated by Cal State East Bay. UCSD advanced to the NCAA West Region championship game before being beaten out by Alaska Anchorage. Farrah Shokoor was named CCAA Player of the Year and recieved All-America honors.

Heintz spent the 2014-15 season as the director of operations and video coordinator for the women's basketball squad at her alma mater, UC Davis. There, she handled many duties including film breakdowns, scouting, travel coordination, recruiting and directing team managers.

In 2013-14, Heintz served as the junior varsity basketball coach at Ballard High School and as an AAU youth basketball coach at Hoopaholics Academy, both located in Seattle, Wash.

An accomplished player before becoming a coach, Heintz was a professional basketball player for two seasons in Europe for the ChemCats in Chemnitz, Germany in 2012-13 and the Forssan Alku Club in Finland the year before, in 2011-12. She led the ChemCats to a Bundesliga II German Championship after averaging 11.3 points, on 56 percent shooting, and 4.3 rebounds per game in 28 contests.

Heintz played two seasons at UC Davis, where she was a Big West All-Academic, Big West All-Tournament Team member and a two-time Second Team All-Big West Conference honoree. She graduated in June 2011 with a bachelor's degree in exercise biology with a minor in psychology. As a senior, in 2010-11, Heintz averaged 9.5 points, shooting 49 percent from the floor, and 4.8 rebounds, leading the team to the Big West Conference Tournament title and a berth in the NCAA Division I Championship. As a junior, in 2009-10, she averaged 10.8 points, on 49 percent shooting, and 4.5 rebounds per game, helping the Aggies to a 21-11 overall record and the Big West Conference regular season title.

Prior to her stint at UC Davis, Heintz played at the University of San Francisco for two seasons from 2006-08, where she garnered West Coast Conference All-Freshman Team honors and the team's Defensive Player of the Year Award as a sophomore.

A native of Spokane, Wash., Heintz was a four-year letter winner at Central Valley High School, graduating in 2006.
