Lauren Irish
Assistant Coach

The 2017 season will be the second as an assistant coach with the UC San Diego track and field program for former Triton standout Lauren Irish.

In her first year with UCSD, Irish assisted both the men's and women's track teams to runner-up perfromances at the CCAA Championship. She also helped six athletes earn berths to the 2016 Division II NCAA Championship.

Irish competed in track and field for four years from 2011-14, and was a 2012 All-American in the 4x100 relay with a seventh-place finish at the NCAA Championships in Pueblo, Colo. She was a Triton captain in 2014, before spending the 2015 season as a member of the UCSD softball team.

A native of Berkeley, Irish earned her UCSD bachelor's degree in mathematics, with a minor in cognitive science, in June of 2015.
