Suzie Engel was named UC San Diego's Athletics Program Coordinator Assistant in 2016. She assists with front desk operations, preparing contest agreements and conducting alumni outreach and engagement through social media.
Engel is the co-founder of the Miracle League of San Diego, a non-profit that provides children with special needs the opportunity to play baseball in an organized league.
In a unique public/non-profit partnership with the San Diego County Parks and Recreation Department, Engel helped raise over $1,000,000 to build the Engel Family Field, a Little Padres Park, at San Dieguito Regional Park. It is the first ADA accessible, rubberized baseball field in Southern California.
From 2007-12, Engel coached boy's and girl's tennis at Torrey Pines High School and Westview High School.
Engel earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Pennsylvania. While at Penn, she was a three-year member of the volleyball team and ranks in the top 10 for kills in Quaker history. Engel also wrote for The Daily Pennsylvanian.
