Nicole Buffini joined the University of California San Diego swimming and diving staff as an assistant coach in September of 2016.
Buffini was previously an age group swim coach within the Dallas Mustangs club program in Texas from September of 2015 to May of 2016. She has served as a counselor at several summer camps at UC San Diego and California in the past.
Buffini (née Parmenter) is a product locally of North Coast Aquatics. While at San Marcos High School, she was the CIF San Diego Section Division II champion in the 100-yard backstroke and 100 butterfly from 2008-10. Buffini broke the CIFSDS record in the 100 back (54.55), and the CIFSDS Division II standard in the 100 fly (54.79). She was named the 2008 Valley League Swimmer of the Year, and the 2010 San Marcos Female Athlete of the Year.
Buffini was a member of the 2010-11 national champion California Golden Bears before completing her college career in Dallas at Southern Methodist University, captaining the Mustangs as a senior. A double major in psychology and sociology, she completed her SMU degree in 2015. Buffini was chosen to the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll in 2013, and garnered American Athletic Conference All-Academic honors in 2014.
A San Diego native, Buffini currently resides in Coronado.
