Former Triton fencer Megan Gesner was named UC San Diego Athletics' Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Intern in September of 2016.
Gesner's primary responsibilities include developing the department's stance on equity, diversity and inclusion, as well as ensuring student-athletes and staff members follow UCSD's Principles of Community. She previously volunteered at the non-profit Nile Sisters Development Initiative as part of her degree requirement in field research.
A 2016 UCSD graduate with a bachelor's degree in human development, Gesner is also a part-time Sabre coach for youth and junior fencing at team Touche Fencing Center in Sorrento Valley, Calif.
