Brianna Stevens was named an assistant coach with the University of California San Diego cross country program in July of 2017.
Before coming to La Jolla, Stevens served as an assistant cross country and track and field coach at UC Irvine from 2016-17. She assisted the UCI women's cross country team to a seventh-place finish at the Big West Championships while helping the men finish fourth. During the track and field season, Stevens primarily assisted with the distance events.
A 2014 graduate of Wingate (N.C.) University, she earned her bachelor's degree in community and commercial recreation with a concentration in coaching and personal training.
At Wingate, Stevens was a member of the cross country and track and field teams from 2010-14 and was captain of the 2013 and 2014 cross country squads that qualified for the national championships. She was a three-time All-South Atlantic Conference selection and an NCAA Division II Cross Country All-Southeast Region performer in 2013 and 2014. Stevens was also an NCAA Division II Cross Country Academic All-American and a three-time USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honoree.
Stevens earned her Track and Field Technical Event Coaching Certification from U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Stevens received her Coaching Principles Certification through the American Sport Education Program as well as her Certified Personal Trainer Certificate from the American Council on Exercise.
