Nicole Hennessey was named an assistant coach for the UC San Diego softball program in September 2017.
Hennessey comes to the Tritons after spending one year as head coach of the Firecrackers travel ball team. She also interned at 108 Performance Academy in Riverside, where Hennessey worked with athletes ranging from six to 26-years-old to help improve throwing, hitting and overall performance.
An outfielder, Hennessey played three seasons at California Baptist University after spending her freshman season at Azuza Pacific. She led the Lancers to a PacWest championship and was named a National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar-Athlete. Hennessey earned both a bachelor's and master's of science in kinesiology from Cal Baptist.
A native of Rancho Cucamonga, Hennessey attended Los Osos High School.
