As a Junior in 2008: Earned All-CCAA Second Team honors for the second time in his Triton career...earned the starting nod in each of UCSD's 18 matches, playing all but 9:59...his nine shutouts led the CCAA...posted a goals against average of 0.82, which ranked fifth in the conference, and tallied 70 saves, a figure that was also fifth...went undefeated through the first six games games of the season... one of only three active Tritons to have started all matches during his career (along with Shane Micheil and Brandon Yee).

As a Sophomore in 2007: Earned All-CCAA Second Team honors during his first season as a Triton...started 15 of the team's 17 matches between the pipes...notched 78 saves and three shutouts while owning a 1.43 goals against average on the year...had a .772 save percentage while facing 228 shots in his 1,445 minutes in the cage...went undefeated through the final four games of the season.

Previous School: Transferred from Mesa Community College where he did not play soccer on that campus.

High School: A 2005 graduate of Fenerbahce High School in Istanbul, Turkey... played soccer for three seasons at FHS after spending his freshman campaign at Berkeley Prep in Tampa, Florida... a member of the U.S. National Team pool where he was the Region III captain.

Personal: Born Feb. 19, 1987 in Tampa, Fla... parents are Alan and Giselle Akman, both of whom attended the University of South Florida... has an older sister named Natasha and a younger brother named Kurt... is working toward a master's degree at the Jacobs School of Engineering... enjoys movies, cars, the beach and technology in his spare time.
