Jon Pascale is in his fifth season as the head coach of the UC San Diego men’s soccer team in 2012. He has put together an overall record of 45-37-10 (.548) during his four years at the helm, including a 36-34-8 (.514) mark in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.

The Tritons narrowly missed the CCAA Tournament by a single position and two points during the 2011 season, using a four-match winning streak to end the year to almost get in. With a 9-7 conference record, UCSD finished third in the CCAA South. UCSD went 10-8 overall, the team's most victories since Pascale's 2008 team went 10-6-2. 

The 2010 Tritons finished third in the CCAA South Division with an 8-6-4 overall record and 8-5-3 mark in conference play. Pascale's squad won five of its last seven matches and went unbeaten in eight of the last 10 contests, ranking second in the CCAA with a 0.89 goals against average.

During his second season at UCSD in 2009, the Tritons proved to be a gritty squad - evident by the fact that 18 of the team’s 20 games were decided by one score or ended in a draw. The team concluded the year with a 7-9-4 overall record, including a 4-9-3 conference mark.

In his first year at the helm in 2008, Pascale led the Tritons to a 10-6-2 overall record, the squad’s best finish since 2005. UCSD men’s soccer ran off five consecutive wins to start last season and finished the campaign with a 6-6-2 record in the CCAA, good for fourth place in the South Division.

Pascale, the seventh head coach of the men's program in school history, joined the UCSD family in 2008 after stints with three universities that also place an emphasis on academic and athletic success. He spent the 2006 and 2007 seasons as an assistant coach at Stanford University where he helped put together the 10th-ranked Division I recruiting class in the nation during 2007.

That position was preceded by five years at Georgetown University where he was the associate head coach for the Hoyas. Prior to his time in the D.C. area, Pascale was an assistant coach at the University of Pennsylvania for three seasons.

A former college player at American University, Pascale also has head coaching experience at various levels, including the New Jersey Olympic Development Program, the Bowie Lightning Soccer Club (Bowie, Md.), the Voorhees Soccer Club (Voorhees, N.J.), the Palo Alto Soccer Club and the Stanford University Men’s Club Team.

He is a 1998 graduate of American University, earning a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Elementary Education during his four years on the Washington D.C. campus.
