Eric Bucchere
Assistant Coach
Eric Bucchere is in his fifth season as the head assistant coach for the UCSD men's soccer team in 2012. He assists with all aspects of the program, including on-field coaching, recruiting, travel, player ID and youth camps, and off-season training.

Bucchere is also currently in his third season coaching for the San Diego Surf soccer club, working with the US Soccer U16/U18 Academy teams in 2010.

He also currently works for Region IV ODP, while holding a USSF "B" license and an NSCAA Advanced National Diploma.

Prior to moving to San Diego, Bucchere spent two seasons as head assistant coach at his alma mater, UC Santa Cruz. During his first year in 2006, Bucchere helped the Division III Slugs to a 21-2 record, a birth into the round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament and a top-10 ranking in the NSCAA National Poll. In 2007, UCSC had a 15-5 mark and made their fifth consecutive berth into the NCAA Tournament.

While an assistant coach at Santa Cruz, Bucchere also served as a staff coach for the Santa Cruz County Breakers Soccer Club, and as the head coach of Harbor High School Girl's Varsity Soccer.

As a player at UCSC, Bucchere was a four-year letter-winner. In his four seasons from 2001-2004, the Slugs compiled a win-loss record of 69-12-3. The team qualified for the NCAA Tournament in three of his four years, including a NCAA DIII National Championship game appearance in 2004.

Bucchere also played semi-professionally in the NPSL with the Santa Cruz County Breakers.

A 2005 graduate of UC Santa Cruz, Bucchere earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature.
