LA JOLLA, Calif. ? UC San Diego baseball head coach Dan O'Brien announced the signing of two former Tritons to the coaching staff for the upcoming 2009 campaign on Monday.  Ryan Leake and Chris Hom will join UCSD as assistant coaches, joining Matt Hobbs, Mike Oseguera, Chad Addison and Tom Colburn on the bench. 

Leake pitched for the Tritons from 2004-06 and finished his career second for career saves at UCSD with 12.  Hom was a four-year letterwinner and helped the Tritons to two, NCAA postseason appearances.  Both Leake and Hom were part of UCSD's CCAA Baseball Championship team during the 2005 season.

The Tritons will return 19 letterwinners to the club in 2009 after finishing with a school-record 43 wins and a spot in the NCAA West Regional tournament last season.
