WALNUT CREEK, Calif. ? UC San Diego junior Jesse Morrill was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Male Co-Runner of the Week, it was announced Monday by the conference office. Morrill finished seventh overall individually in a field of 81 runners to lead the Tritons to a second place finish in their annual UCSD Triton Classic on Saturday morning. He shares the weekly honor with Cal Poly Pomona's Jersain Torres, who claimed sixth place in the 10k race.

Competing against a diverse field of competitors from the Division I, II, and III levels, the Huntington Beach, Calif. native crossed the finish line with a time of 32:34.0 on his home course, finishing two spots ahead of teammate Jake LeVieux. Morrill has been UCSD's top individual finisher on two occasions this season.

The Tritons scored 62 points on the day, finishing 40 behind the University of Alaska Anchorage, which placed five runners in the Top 10 to easily claim the team title. 

Morrill and the Tritons will spend the next two weeks gearing up for the CCAA Championships in Devore, Calif. on October 25.
