After joining the UC San Diego Athletics department in the summer of 2007 as an administrative assistant and moving into roles of Assistant Compliance and Student Services Coordinator and then Compliance and Financial Aid Coordinator, Sara Robinson was named Assistant Athletics Director for Student Athlete Development and Compliance in August 2010.
In her current role, Robinson's responsibilities include serving as the primary contact for athletic scholarships and all financial aid issues, as well as monitoring various areas of recruiting and playing and practice season legislation. She also assists with eligibility, academic advising and rules education.
Robinson oversees the coordination of programs such as the Honorary Coach Program and Triton Leadership Training and assists with supervising Triton Athletes Council (TAC). She is the lead organizer of a range of department events including the annual Athletics Recognition Dinner.
In addition, Robinson serves on the campus Student Affairs Diversity Working Group and is a member of NACWAA (National Association of Collegiate Women's Athletic Administrators) and NAAC (National Association for Athletics Compliance).
Outside her primary role as an assistant athletics director, Robinson is
also an assistant coach for the UCSD softball team and helped guide the
Tritons to the program's first national championship in
Robinson graduated from UC San Diego's Marshall College in 2007 with a degree in Cognitive Science, while also minoring in Ethnic Studies. She was a captain and four-year letterwinner on the softball team and also held a position on TAC, including serving as an executive board member for two years.
