High School: A 2007 graduate of Great Oaks High School in Temecula, Calif... advanced to the quarterfinals and semifinals in numerous fencing competitions along the West Coast, including third place in the Bay Cup held at Stanford... competed for Salle McBean Fencing and Halberstadt Fencer's Club.

Personal: Born Jan. 28, 1989... parents are Anthony and Renee Gutierrez... mother competed collegiately in track and field at the University of Arizona... has a sister named Nicole... most memorable moment is competing at the Pacific Coast Championships... currently is a fencer the Cabrillo Academy of the Sword... enjoys watching movies, reading short stories, hanging out with friends and playing board games in his free time... favorite athlete is Salvatore Sanzo.
