TUCSON, Ariz. - The UC San Diego men's and women's diving teams competed at the Wildcat Diving Invitational this weekend.
On Friday, Patrick Cohen, Tyler Runsten and Bryan McGrory placed 24th, 25th and 26th respectively in the one-meter prelims with scores of 207.10, 202.55 and 194.95. For the UCSD women, Danie Niculescu took 36th with 152.65 points in the three-meter prelims.
Runsten, McGrory and Cohen took respective finishes of 26th, 27th and 28th on Saturday in the three-meter prelims, posting scores of 221.25, 204.70 and 196.25. Niculescu improved on her Friday point total with a 37th-place score of 169.10.
In the platform finals Sunday, Arizona State won on both the men and women events. On Saturday, BYU's Brandon Watson was victorious in the three-meter finals while Buffalo's Meili Carpenter finished as the best in the one-meter event.
The Tritons will return to action on Jan. 2 with a home meet against Truman State beginning at 11 a.m.
