LA JOLLA, Calif. - The UC San Diego men's and women's swimming teams went head-to-head against D-II national power Truman State, and the Tritons won in convincing fashion by a 228-30 margin on the men's side and a 184.5-77.5 score on the women's side. The UCSD men's team won all 14 events as Jereme Barnett-Woods (1000 free, 500 free), Julius Espiritu (100 back, 200 back) and Dan Perdew (50 free, 100 fly) won multiple individual events. On the women's side, the Tritons claimed 13-of-14 events as Katherine Tse (50 free, 100 free), Anju Shimura (100 back, 200 back), Beth Dong (1000 free, 500 free) and Alexandra Henley (200 IM, 200 free) won two individual events each. UCSD is back in action on January 9 when it travels to Los Angeles to take on Loyola Marymount and Kansas.

On the men's side, the 200 medley relay team of Espiritu, Juan Pablo Carrillo, Dan Perdew and Todd Langland won with a time of 1:33.35. Barnett-Woods won the 1000 free with a time of 9:49.77 and the 500 free with a time of 4:46.81. Espiritu won the 100 back with a time of 53.68 and the 200 back in 1:57.98.

Perdew won the 50 free with a time of 21.20, beating teammate Blake Langland who notched a time of 21.69. Perdew also won the 100 fly with a time of 51.80.

UCSD also won the 200 free relay in 1:25.57 as Sam Stromberg, Todd Langland, Blake Langland and Perdew took top honors.

On the women's side, the 200 medley relay team of Shimura, Mercedes O'Brien, Jessica Ferguson and Tse won with a time of 1:48.34. Tse also won the 50 free in 24.56 and the 100 free in 53.06.

Shimura won the 100 back in 59.66 and the 200 back with at time of 2:05.67. Dong captured the 1000 free in 10:25.51 and the 500 free in 5:11.21. Henley won the 200 IM in 2:06.78 and the 200 free in 1:53.79.
