AUSTIN, Texas - The UC San Diego men's golf team placed 12th out of 14 teams at the weather-shortened St. Edward's Invitational at the Grey Rock Golf Club on Monday. The Tritons finished the day with a final score of 65-over par, 633 after rounds of 314 and 319 on the 6,842-yard, par-71 course.
The third round was scheduled to begin Tuesday morning, but with heavy rain in the forecast, the final day of the tournament was called, making Monday's results final.
Junior
Keith Okasaki was the Tritons' top individual finisher, carding a two-round total of 12-over par, 154. Okasaki shot a 78 to open the day and came back to shoot a 76 in round two for a share of 28th place.

Raj Samra, who fired rounds of 75 and 84 to claim a share of 50th place at 17-over par, 159.
Richard Morris and
Michael Neustadt rounded out the scoring for UCSD, finishing with identical two-round totals of 20-over par, 162. Morris followed an opening round 83 with a 79 in round two, while Neustadt carded rounds of 80 and 82, respectively.
The "JV" squad from the University of Texas won the team title after posting a two-round score of 11-over par, 579. The Longhorns carded rounds of 292 and 287 to outdistance the JV unit from Texas A&M that finished second at 17-over par, 585 (295-290). Host St. Edward's took third at 597 (302-295), while Dallas Baptist carded a 601 (308-293) to finish fourth.
Texas A&M's Case Cohran claimed medalist honors after finishing the day with an even par, 142. He shot a 70 in the opening round, before carding a 72 in round two. Cochran narrowly defeated Johnathan Schnitzer of Texas, who finished one stroke off the lead following rounds of 72 and 71.
UCSD is back in action with the Cal State San Bernardino Invitational March 1-2.
