This fall's first Taste of the Tritons promotions will feature the men's and women's soccer teams this Wednesday night. Junior Hayley Johnson and freshmen Kylie Hill and Morgan Jong will be serving "breakfast for dinner" at Café Ventanas from 6:00 to 7:00 PM while junior Kian Malek and sophomores Jesse Brennan and Cory Wolfrom of the men's team will be dishing up California burritos at Ocean View Terrace.

UCSD faced-off against Cal State Dominguez Hills last Friday and got an early goal from Ellen Wilson on the way to a 1-0 victory. Wilson's goal came off a corner kick from Hayley Johnson in the 12th minute and UCSD held-on the rest of the way to secure the win. The match was the finale of a seven-match road trip in which the Tritons put together a 5-0-2 record. Brian McManus' squad cruised on Sunday against Cal State San Bernardino at Triton Soccer Field by setting or matching season-highs for goals (4), assists (4), shots (21) and points (12) in the 4-0 victory. Sarah McTigue scored twice while Johnson added two assists in the match. Lindsay Mills scored the Tritons' second goal of the day and Taryn Bales tallied the first goal of her Triton career in the 77th minute to cap-off the easy win. All 24 active players on UCSD's roster appeared against CSUSB. Gabi Hernandez and Shelby Wong also recorded assists in the win.

With three assists over the weekend, Hayley Johnson took the CCAA lead for assists with seven in her first eight matches. The junior defender from Santa Rosa has recorded 21 assists throughout her three-year Triton career so far and needs to drop just four more dimes to move into the school's all-time Top 10 for career assists. Six of Johnson's seven dishes for goals this year have come off a dead ball; five assists have come on corner kicks. In addition to her gift of delivering accurate passes, Johnson has played the most minutes (752) of any Triton field player and has put eight of her 10 shots this season on-frame, an .800 clip.

It's CCAA North vs. CCAA South this weekend at Triton Soccer Field, as two North Division teams raid La Jolla. Cal State Monterey Bay will be the first Triton opponent on Friday and will take the field with a 2-5-0 overall record and a 1-5-0 conference mark. CSUMB currently sits in fifth place in the CCAA North and is coming off a pair of shutout losses to Chico State and Sonoma State. The Otters were outscored a combined 5-0 in those matches. UCSD has never lost to CSUMB and is 7-0 all-time. Cal State East Bay and UCSD have only faced each other four times in the schools' history, with UCSD winning each of those contests. CSUEB upset then-No. 13 Cal State Stanislaus last Friday night, 2-1, before falling to Chico State on Sunday, 2-1. The Pioneers registered the game-winner just eight minutes from full-time and the win handed CSUS its first loss in 2011. CSUEB is in fourth place in the CCAA North.
