On Friday, the Tritons will travel to face Chico State at 7:00 p.m. at University Soccer Stadium. Then, UCSD will battle Cal State Stanislaus in Turlock at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. The Tritons then return home for a six-match home stand to end the season, starting with an October 14 match-up with Cal State L.A. UCSD will play a conference home match every Friday and Sunday through October 30 at Triton Soccer Field.

Chico State enters Friday's match tied with Sonoma State for first place in the CCAA North Division with 16 points and a 5-2-1 conference record. CSUC is yet to lose at home this season (2-0-1). The Wildcats are unbeaten in their last four matches and are coming off a 1-0 win against Humboldt State on October 2. Lisa Webster leads the CSUC offense with four goals and three assists in 10 matches played. Her 11 points are sixth-most in the CCAA. The Wildcats haven't beaten UCSD since September 20, 2009 and the Tritons hold a 9-4 all-time advantage in the series.

Cal State Stanislaus dropped out of the NSCAA Top 25 this week after a 1-1 tie to Chico State and a 3-2 loss to Sonoma State last weekend. CSUS found itself ranked No. 13 on September 20 after a 4-0-2 start to the season, but the Warriors have only one win in their last four matches. CSUS remains in third place in the CCAA North behind CSUC and SSU with 14 points and a 4-2-2 conference record. Karenee Demery and Alexia Poon lead CSUS with five goals apiece. Demery's seven assists help her lead the CCAA with 17 points this season; she ranks second in the conference in assists and shots (39). UCSD is 10-1-1 all-time against Cal State Stanislaus. The Warriors only victory over the Tritons came on October 16, 2005.

UC San Diego put up a huge weekend at Triton Soccer Field last Friday and Sunday, outscoring Cal State Monterey Bay and Cal State East Bay a combined 10-1 in the Tritons' two matches. UCSD beat CSUMB 5-0 on Friday evening, thanks in large part to two goals and an assist by reserve midfielder Courtney Capobianco. In addition, Sarah McTigue, Shelby Wong and Izzy Pozurama scored. UCSD gave up its first goal since September 16 to find itself down 1-0 against CSUEB on Sunday, but Britnee Chesney scored her inaugural UCSD goal in the 31st minute to tie it back up. The Tritons would explode for four goals within the first 20 minutes of the second half to put the match away. Jessica Wi, Danielle Dixon, Gabi Hernandez and McTigue all scored for the Tritons, and Wi accounted for two assists in the 5-1 victory.

UCSD remains the second-ranked team in the NSCAA Division II National Women's Soccer Poll, remaining where the Tritons started the season. UCSD dropped to fifth on September 6 after tying Western Washington to open the season, but moved up to No. 4 on September 20 before finding itself back at No. 2 in the September 27 poll. UCSD is on a six-match win streak and has outscored its opponents 21-2 over those contests. The Tritons have been ranked No. 1 in the West Region since September 13. Bridgeport (Conn.) University (9-0) is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation.

Hayley Johnson has tallied an assist in five straight matches and has recorded multiple assists in three of those contests ... Johnson is tied for the most assists in the country with 10. She has the most assists per game (1.00) of any player in the nation who has played in at least 10 matches this season ... McTigue has scored in each of the team's last three matches ... CSUEB's goal on Sunday snapped a UCSD shutout streak of 429 minutes ... Chesney, Wi, Dixon and Capobianco all scored for the first time this season last weekend ...
