The UC San Diego Department of Athletics is committed to actively participating in the community through a variety of outreach events and services. Student-athletes from 23 sports participate in a wide range of service and outreach programs in and around the San Diego area and beyond.

Recent Events

• December 13, 2016 - UC San Diego Swimming & Diving participated in the 22nd Annual Shop With A Jock, a program that partners professional and collegiate athletes together to help underprivileged children of San Diego shop for holiday gifts for their loved ones
• December 10, 2016 - The Triton Athletes' Council (TAC) and UCSD Athletics partnered once again with the Neighborhood House Association for Adopt-A-Family, with nearly 75 student-athletes distributing holiday gifts to about a dozen families in need
• May 22, 2015 - The women's volleyball team partnered with San Diego Coastkeeper on a beach cleanup
• April 22, 2015 - The UCSD women's soccer team helped host a Coaching Corps clinic for a group from El Cajon
• April 19, 2015 - The UCSD basketball teams hosted a clinic for a Special Olympics group
• January 9, 2015 - UC San Diego Honored with CCAA Make-A-Wish Award
• January 7, 2015 - UC San Diego Athletics Department Holds 15th Annual Blood Drive
• January 7, 2015 - The UCSD baseball program has partnered with La Jolla Youth Baseball
• December 16, 2014 - The UCSD baseball program joined with the Vs. Cancer Foundation in raising funds to assist in the fight against childhood cancer

• June 15, 2014 - The UCSD men's water polo team and head coach Denny Harper gave the Barrio Station a new paint job

• March 3, 2014 - The UCSD rowing programs were awarded the Division II Award of Excellence for the Row for the Cure event
• February 10, 2014 - The fourth annual CCAA Canned Food Drive will once again benefit the San Diego Food Bank
• January 9, 2014 - The 14th annual UCSD Athletics Blood Drive brought in 147 donors
• December 13, 2013 - UCSD Athletics continues its annual relationship with the Neighborhood House Association through the Triton Athletes' Council's Adopt-A-Family program during the holiday season

• May 28-June 10, 2012 - Former soccer player Annette Ilg spent time in Kenya providing village residents with medical care, housing and education

• February 18, 2012 - Men's volleyball hosts a free clinic with Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County
