Doga Gur was in his seventh year as the senior assistant athletics communications director at the University of California San Diego in 2018-19. He was the primary contact for the Triton soccer, baseball and tennis programs. He handled communications for the swimming and diving and men's volleyball programs between his return to the department in October of 2012, and July of 2018, and also oversaw publicity for the track and field teams for a time.
Gur was previously a five-year media relations employee at San Jose State University from 2005-10. He served as the assistant sports information director after August of 2006, having spent 2005-06 as a sports information assistant with the Spartans. He was the primary contact for the SJSU men's and women's soccer, women's swimming and diving and baseball teams, while also assisting with the men's and women's basketball and football programs.
Gur is a 1998 graduate of UC San Diego who double majored in economics and political science. He worked as an assistant sports information director at UC San Diego for six years upon completing his degree, the final two as the interim sports information director. Gur also previously served in game management capacities at Stanford University and Santa Clara University and held a five-month internship with the San Jose Earthquakes of Major League Soccer in 2011-12.
Born in the capital city of Ankara in his native Turkey, Gur grew up in the Bay Area in Palo Alto. He is a 1994 graduate of Palo Alto High School, where he played soccer for three years.
