WOMEN’S SOCCER HOSTS KEY REGIONAL RIVALS IN 2013 OPENING WEEK
Pegged at No. 3 nationally by NCAA Division II pre-season pollsters and the choice of conference coaches to repeat as CCAA South Division titlists, Coach Brian McManus’s Women’s Soccer team opens its 2013 season at home this week against perennial West Region powers Seattle Pacific (Thursday) and Western Washington (Saturday)…The lofty rankings, based largely on last year’s 17-3-4 record and second place national finish, clearly are not focusing on the fact that the Tritons have just four starters returning and have 14 freshmen on the roster…For more information on Women’s Soccer, click here.

MEN'S SOCCER DEBUTS ON ROAD, HOME SATURDAY
After barely missing post-season play a year ago, sixth-year coach Jon Pascale’s Men’s Soccer team boasts 15 returnees, including 10 seniors for its 2013 campaign which begins Thursday afternoon at Cal Baptist and continues with Saturday's home opener against local foe Point Loma at Triton Soccer Stadium…The Tritons open conference hostilitieson the road next weekend vs. CCAA South Division foes Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State L.A.…UCSD was 9-4-4 last year, losing just two of its final 10 outings…For complete news on Men’s Soccer, click here.
TRITON INVITATIONAL FIRST TEST FOR MEN’S WATER POLO
Coach Denny Harper begins his 34th year at the helm when the Men’s Water Polo team opens its 2013 schedule this weekend by hosting the annual Triton Invitational…The 11-team event starts Saturday and will conclude Sunday…Harper’s Tritons will play four games over the weekend, taking on Redlands and No. 4 Cal on Saturday before finishing up against Cal Lutheran and No. 2 UCLA Sunday…UCSD, slotted at No. 11 in pre-season rankings, is coming off a 16-8 season that ended on a down note with a loss as the top-seed in the WWPA Championship tourney…Harper returns a slew of veterans, including first team All-WWPA goalie Cameron Ravanbach, but will be without WWPA MVP Josh Stiling and fellow senior Luke Syka who are redshirting…Click here for more Men’s Water Polo news.

WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL FACES DIFFICULT LINEUP AT COYOTE CLASSIC
Third-year Head Coach Ricci Luyties, with his entire roster back from last year’s 20-11 NCAA Playoff team, will see his Women’s Volleyball squad get a tough challenge right out of the gate when it travels to the Coyote Classic in San Bernardino this weekend…The Tritons, pre-season No. 22 in the AVCA poll, face No. 24 Central Washington and No. 13 Regis on Friday, then hook up with Harding and Seattle Pacific on Saturday…Featured on the veteran roster are senior middle blocker Sara McCutchan, junior setter Amber Hawthorne and sophomore outside hitters Danielle Dahle and Sophie Rowe…Hawthorne, a two-year starter, McCutchan and Rowe were all second team All-CCAA selections last fall while Dahle hauled in first team honors and was recognized as the West Region Freshman of the Year…Click here for more information on Women’s Volleyball.
GARCIA SENDS OUT CHARGES FOR FRIDAY CROSS COUNTRY OPENER
The men will be going four miles and the women 2.5 miles when Coach Nate Garcia’s Cross Country team, fresh off a 10-day high altitude training stint in Mammoth, hosts its season opener Friday on the north campus course…Seniors Kellen Levy and Chia Chang figure to pace their respective teams which will be tangling with Cal State L.A., Point Loma, San Diego Christian and a pair of junior college squads, Cerritos and Mesa...The Tritons return from Mammoth on Wedneday...For complete Cross Country coverage, click here.
