Camille Gaito was named an assistant coach with the UCSD softball program in September of 2013.
Gaito is responsible for working with the pitchers, as special assistant to associate head coach Jessica Millsap.
As a student-athlete, Gaito is one of the most decorated athletes to every play at Triton Softball field. She was a pivotal piece is bringing home the 2011 NCAA Division II national championship, the program’s first national title and the 30th overall for UCSD as an institution.
Gaito received All-America honors three times, was named to the All-CCAA First Team three years and earned Academic All-District selection once. After a stellar 2011 campaign, Gaito was tabbed the CCAA Female Athlete of the Year, CCAA Pitcher of the Year, West Region Pitcher of the Year and the NCAA Championship Most Valuable Player. She finished as UCSD’s all-time career leader in wins (98), appearances (154), complete games (101), saves (9), innings pitched (877.2) and strikeouts (617).
Gaito earned a bachelor’s degree in international studies from UC San Diego in 2012.
