Live Results
The 2015 Triton Invitational features one of its largest fields at over 1500 athletes, including competition from all NCAA divisions, the NAIA, junior colleges, and the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS). There will also be participants who do not represent a college or university, from club programs to members of the national team of Brazil, alongside other elite athletes, former Olympians and Olympic hopefuls.
Friday will consist of three women's throwing events, with the hammer throw at 10 a.m., the discus (invitational) at 2 p.m., and more discus (open) at 4 p.m. These events will primarily take place at the UCSD Throwing Field west of Triton Track & Field Stadium, with some flights of the open discus going on simultaneously inside the stadium. The men's and women's open pole vault sections are also on Friday, in the stadium beginning at 1 p.m. (women).
On Saturday, the rest of the field, jumping, and track events will take place. Throwing again kicks off the day at 10 a.m. with the men's hammer (west field). The women's Léon T. Roach III invitational pole vault starts off the jumping events in the south pit at 11 a.m., along with the men's long jump. The women's triple jump (southeast pit) commences at 5 p.m. to mark the end of the jumping events. The action on the track gets underway at 11 a.m. with the 4x100 relays, and ends with the men's 5000, which now has a later approximate start time of 7:10 p.m. due to the high volume of entries for the meet.

AMONG THE FIELD
One match-up to watch this weekend comes in the second of two flights in the men's invitational shot put (Saturday at 5 p.m.), which pits former Penn State standout Joe Kovacs (73'4") against 2012 Olympic bronze medalist Reese Hoffa (73'7.25").
A handful of UCSD track and field alums will be back on campus this weekend. Among them are Nick Howe, brother of current senior All-American Nash Howe and javelin school record-holder and two-time national champion, and his wife, Jackie Howe (née Jacqueline Rose), sister of another current senior in Keith Rose, and school record-holder in the 400 meters. HOWE EARNS AUTOMATIC QUALIFIER
Nash Howe hit his automatic qualifier and won the javelin at the San Diego Collegiate Challenge with a season-best mark of 222'2" on his final toss. The two-time All-American and two-time California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) champion is the first Triton to punch a ticket to the 2015 NCAA Division II Championships held in May in Allendale, Mich. Howe currently ranks No. 4 in the javelin in Division II. His personal record remains as 229'3" as he continues to pursue the program standard held by older brother and former national champion Nick Howe, at 231'3".
BOWEN LEAPS AND BOUNDS AHEAD
Matt Bowen's personal-record triple jump of 50'4.5" in a first-place effort at home during the All-UC Championships on March 7 is currently the No. 2 mark in Division II, according to the TFRRS database.
