It's All Tritons As No. 14 UCSD Overpowers Concordia Eagles, 8-1

LA JOLLA, Calif. - The University of California San Diego men's tennis team trounced Concordia in an 8-1 decision Saturday afternoon at Northview Courts.

The Tritons improve to 7-5 overall and the Eagles fall to 5-6 on the year.

The No. 1 slot in the singles matches saw #36 Eric Tseng take down Till Guttenberger in three sets 4-6, 6-2, 7-6.

Alexandre Miaule snagged a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Sten Boersma at No. 2 and Justin Zhang defeated Erik Witzlinger 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 3.

The No. 4 spot saw Marc Isaia beat Daniel Reddmann 6-2, 3-6, 6-3. Rodrigo Amaral also saw a win, this time at No. 6 and over Thijs Hagen, 6-4, 6-1. Marius Ruh fell to Man Hon Ko, 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 (11-9).

The doubles competion saw no Tritons losses. At No. 1, Miaule and Isaia took down Guttenberger and Reddmann 8-4.

One spot down, Zhang and Tseng defeated Hagen and Boersma in an 8-4 decision. Amaral and Sreeganesh Manoharan rounded out the doubles matches with a 8-2 win over Witzlinger and Hon Ko.

On Sunday, March 12, the Tritons will take on Bucknell at Northview Courts. The match will start at 12:00 p.m.
