Tritons Compete at NCAA West Regional, Yukelson Takes First in Women's Epee

STANFORD, Calif. - The UC San Diego fencing team competed at the NCAA West Regional, hosted by Stanford on Saturday, March 11.

The Tritons' best performance came in women's epee as freshman Taly Yukelson took first place.

Top placers in other women's events were junior Sophia Holmqvist (2nd) in foil and sophomore Lillian Chu (7th) in saber.

On the men's side, senior David Hadler finished second in foil behind Stanford Olympian Alex Massialis. In men's saber, Thejas Gulati earned a fourth-place finish.

UC San Diego now awaits the announcement of selections for the NCAA Championships, which take place March 23-26 in Indianapolis.
