No. 13 UC San Diego Steamrolls No. 38 Rollins College, 5-0

LA JOLLA, Calif. - The No. 13 University of California San Diego women's tennis team kept the Tars of Rollins College scoreless Tuesday, beating them 5-0 on Northview Courts.

UCSD improves to 12-1 on the year, and No. 38 Rollins falls to 6-7.

Only two of the singles matches were needed to finalize the win for the Tritons. At No. 2, Ashley Chao defeated Carlyne Goldman 6-1, 6-0.

At No. 4, Jasmine Hosseini took down Savana Fuller in two sets 6-1, 6-1. Britta Mosser's, Becky Chou's, Alexandra Weil's and Valeria Corral's matches were deemed unnecessary and remained unfinished.

Strong showings in all spots at the doubles competition helped end the day early. At No. 1, Mosser and Shannon Theisen beat Alexandra Borg and Fabiana Vitanza 9-7.

No. 2 saw Chao and Chou defeat Shannon Etten and Goldman 8-2 while Madison Hale and Weil rounded out the matches with an 8-1 victory over Fuller and Teresa Kaiser.

The Tritons' next opponent will be St. Edward's on March 16 at Northview Courts. The match is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.
