TURLOCK, Calif. - The University of California San Diego men's golf squad is tied for ninth of 15 teams after Monday's two rounds of play at the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational.
UC San Diego holds a two-round total of 602, 26-over par on the par-72, 6,641-yard layout at the Turlock Golf & Country Club. The Tritons shot a 304 in the opening round and improved to fire a 298 in the second.
Drew Robbins is tied for 27th as UCSD's top player thus far. He is 4-over with a 148 after shooting 75-73. Hayden Hui (75-74--149) is tied for 34th, Adam Navigato (76-75--151) is tied for 43rd, Mateusz Kucz (79-76-155) is tied for 55th and James Kressinger-Dunn (78-80--158) is tied for 65th.
Chico State is in first place as the only team under par with a 574 (-2). Sonoma State (578) is second and Holy Names (579) is third.
After shooting a pair of 68s, Chico State's Colby Dean leads the 84-player field with his 136 (-8). Cal State Monterey Bay's Elis Svard (139) is second and Matt Thomas of Holy Names (140) is third.
Five players are under par heading into Tuesday's third and final round, which gets underway at 8 a.m. Action can be followed with live scoring.
