With the wins, UCSD improves to 28-22 on the season and 19-19 in the CCAA. Stanislaus State falls to 23-20 overall and 13-25 in the conference.
Junior Lauren Sanders hit a big home run over left field in the second inning to score the only run UCSD would need to secure the 1-0 victory.
Stellar pitching from sophomore Lauren Brown (11-9) held the Warriors scoreless. Brown only allowed six hits and one walk while tallying three strikeouts. She threw her fifth complete game of the season and picked up her 11th win.
Kylie Ragsdale (12-11) earned the loss for Stan State after giving up one run and eight hits. She pitched all seven innings and struck out two.
Sanders also had a double in the sixth inning and finished the day 2-for-3. Junior Kendall Baker went 3-for-4 at the plate and notched two stolen bases. Junior Ashley Chestnut, junior Kendall Woken and freshman Danica Kazakoff each tallied a hit for the Tritons'.
The Warriors' Katelyn McDonald tallied two hits while Nicolette Vizcaino had a hit and a stolen base.
The Tritons led 7-0 through the top of the fifth inning but the Warriors scored seven runs in the bottom of the frame to knot the game at seven to eventually force extra innings. In the top of the 13th inning, UCSD notched two runs to earn a 9-7 win.
Baker got things started in the first inning with a single then a stolen base to reach third base. Woekn reached on a throwing error by the Warrior pitcher to score Baker. Sanders capped the inning with a single to left field that scored Woken and junior Kelsi Maday.
In the top of the second, Baker reached first on a throwing error by the Stan State shortstop before Woken singled to bring Baker home to give UCSD a 4-0 lead.
Sophomore Caitlyn Weisner made it across home plate in the third inning, scoring on a passed ball to make it a 5-0 game.
Maday and Sanders each had an RBI single in the fourth inning to give the Tritons' their largest lead, 7-0.
The Warriors used a big fifth inning, scoring seven runs to knot the game at seven. Cassidy Duke had a three RBI triple while Ruby Quiralte doubled and Alexus Martinez had an RBI single.
The Tritons were retired in order in the sixth and seventh innings.
Neither team could get anything going on offense until UCSD used two runs in the top of the 13th to seal the victory.
Weisner got things started with a double to right center. Sophomore Maddy Lewis reached of fielder's choice to score Wesiner before Baker singled to bring Lewis home.
Freshman Lizzy Beutter (9-8) was credited with the win after pitching 12.2 innings and only allowing two earned runs and seven hits while notching eight strikeouts. Casillas came in relief of Beutter and gave up two earned runs.
For the Warriors, Kylie Ragsdale earned the loss after giving up two earned runs in eight innings pitched.
The Tritons will conclude the four-game series Saturday, April 29 with a doubleheader set to start at 11 a.m.
