Sean Callahan was named an assistant coach for the University of California San Diego men's soccer program ahead of the 2017 season.

Callahan is a 2015 graduate of Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park. His bachelor's degree was in business administration, with concentrations in marketing and wine business strategies. Callahan is no stranger to the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), as a standout midfielder for the Sonoma State soccer program from 2010-15. A senior team captain in 2015, he was a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-West Region Third Team and All-CCAA Second Team selection as a junior in 2014.

A San Diego native, Callahan attended the San Diego Jewish Academy and played for current UCSD associate head coach Ryan Hernandez there.

In addition to his coaching duties in La Jolla, Callahan serves as a sales associate at Pali Wine Co. in San Diego's Little Italy.
