Seniors (65+), children/youth (7-17) and visiting student tickets are $5. UC San Diego students and children under 7 are free.

On Nov. 27, UC San Diego was officially invited to become a member of the NCAA Division I Big West Conference. The Tritons will begin a four-year reclassification period starting in the fall of 2020. They will play a full Big West schedule that season and will be eligible for NCAA Championships in men's volleyball, men's and women's water polo, and fencing. For the 2024-25 academic year, all sports will be eligible to compete in Big West and NCAA Division I championships. Read the full press release here.

Junior forward Jhaina Stephens is among the top players in the CCAA, averaging 15.5 points and 10.1 rebounds per contest for the season. UC San Diego enters Friday night's contest winners of 13 of its last 14 games, and currently sits all alone in first place atop the CCAA standings. The Tritons are currently receiving votes in this week's WBCA national poll.

The Tritons won two CCAA home games last week, defeating Cal State San Marcos, 86-66, on Jan. 23, before knocking off Sonoma State, 90-78, on Jan. 27. Sophomore forward Mikayla Williams scored a career-high 24 points with eight rebounds, while junior guard Joleen Yang made 5-of-5 3-point attempts in the win over Cal State San Marcos. Junior guard Kayla Sato scored 14 of her 16 points in the second half and senior guard Taylor Tanita matched her career high with 10 assists in the victory against Sonoma State.

Senior forward Dalayna Sampton was named California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Week for the third time this season on Jan. 30. Sampton previously earned the honor on Dec. 19 and Nov. 28. Sampton posted her eighth and ninth double-doubles of the season in CCAA home victories last week against Cal State San Marcos and Sonoma State. The senior forward recorded 20 points, 11 rebounds, three steals and two blocks in a win over Cal State San Marcos on Jan. 23, and followed it up with a dynamic birthday performance of 23 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks in a victory over Sonoma State on Jan. 27. Sampton enters the week tied for 17th in the nation in total rebounds (208) and 18th in rebounds per game (10.4).

UC San Diego junior guard Joleen Yang leads the nation in 3-point field goal percentage (52.2).
Yang leads the Tritons in 3-pointers made (48) and attempted (92) this season. As a team, UC San Diego is 14th in the country in 3-point percentage (37.3) and 29th in overall field goal percentage (44.5). 

Senior guard Taylor Tanita is fifth in the nation in total assists (126) and ranks sixth in the country in assists per game (6.3).
As a team, UC San Diego is 21st in the country in total assists (339), 21st in assist per game (17) and 24th in assist to turnover ratio (1.17).

The Tritons rank third in the nation in rebounding margin, dominating opponents on the glass this season 859-634 (11.3 per game)
. UC San Diego also ranks 17th nationally in defensive rebounds per contest (30 per game) and is tied for 38th in total rebounds per game (42.9). Sophomore forward Mikayla Williams has recorded eight double-doubles this season, which is tied for 35th nationally.

UC San Diego highlighted its 2016-17 season by capturing a second successive CCAA regular-season crown. The Tritons finished runner-up in the CCAA Tournament after falling to Cal State East Bay, 62-53. UCSD earned a berth in the NCAA West Regional as the fourth seed, where it suffered a 69-65 loss to Simon Fraser in the quarterfinal. Head coach Heidi VanDerveer was named the CCAA Coach of the Year while junior transfer Dalayna Sampton earned CCAA Newcomer of the Year honors. UCSD had three players named All-CCAA in Cassie MacLeod, Beth Mounier and Sampton. Joleen Yang earned honorable mention.

Heidi VanDerveer is in her sixth campaign as the head coach of the UC San Diego women's basketball team with a 116-46 overall record. VanDerveer was named 2016-17 CCAA Coach of the Year for the second-straight season, as she and her staff led the Tritons to a 23-7 overall record (17-3 CCAA) and a second-consecutive CCAA regular-season title. The Tritons qualified the NCAA Division II postseason for the 10th time since 2000-01, competing in the quarterfinals against Simon Fraser. Prior to coming to La Jolla, VanDerveer spent four seasons at Division III Occidental, where she compiled an impressive 83-26 record and led the Tigers to four straight Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) titles. VanDerveer has also spent time as the head coach at Eastern Washington and San Francisco after beginning her coaching career under Pat Summitt at Tennessee, and spent 12 years working in the WNBA.
