Tritons Tied for Seventh After One Complete Round at Pioneer Shootout

PLEASANTON, Calif. - Following one complete round Monday, the University of California San Diego men's golf team is tied for seventh of 17 at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout, hosted by Cal State East Bay at Ruby Hill Golf Club.

The Tritons shot a 303 (+15) in the opening round. Play was suspended due to darkness in the later stages of the second round.

Adam Navigato (Solana Beach/Torrey Pines HS) is UC San Diego's top player, sitting in a tie for 11th after firing a 73 (+1). Jacob Johnson is tied for 24th (75, +3), Hayden Hui is tied for 33rd (76, +4), Justin Woo (San Diego/Torrey Pines HS) is tied for 56th with a 79 (+7), and Ryan Vaughan is tied for 76th (82, +10). Mateusz Kucz, who is playing as an individual, is tied for 90th (85, +13).

Colorado Colorado Springs leads with a 289 (+1). Cal State Monterey Bay and Sonoma State are tied for second at 294 (+6).

Individually, Monterey Bay's Elis Svard leads the 96-player field with a 69 (-3) on the par-72, 7,009-yard course. Tanner Comes from UCCS and Ben Constancio from St. Edward's are tied for second at 70 (-2).

Six players are under par thus far.

Play resumes Tuesday at 8 a.m. The teams will complete round two and play a third and final round.
