CAL STATE SAN BERNARDINO SPLITS SERIES AT CAL STATE MONTEREY BAY
The Coyotes split four conference road games at Cal State Monterey Bay last weekend and have won five of their last seven contests overall ... Pitcher Amanda Ramirez tossed a complete-game shutout while allowing only six hits in Cal State San Bernardino's 9-0 victory on Friday ... Catcher Jessica Brown went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored in the Coyotes' 6-4 win on Saturday ... Brown leads the CCAA in slugging percentage (.813) during conference play and is second in home runs (8) and seventh in batting average (.391).

UC San Diego is coming off a 30-22 overall mark in 2017 and sixth-place finish in the CCAA standings with a 21-19 record. The Tritons concluded conference play winning seven of their last eight games. UC San Diego welcomes back two all-conference selections in seniors Kelsi Maday and Kendall Baker.
Maday was a first-team All-CCAA honoree for the second-consecutive season, while also garnering All-West Region honors from the NFCA as well as the Conference Commissioners Association (CCA). The senior started all 52 games in the outfield in 2017, finishing the season batting .395 with 13 doubles and 42 stolen bases. In addition, Maday led the Tritons with 44 runs scored, 37 RBI and a .468 on-base percentage. The Napa native has already set UC San Diego's single-season record for stolen bases in a season (42) and for a career (94).
Baker was named to the All-CCAA second team in 2017 for the second-straight season, as she led UC San Diego with 66 hits and three triples. A native of Berthoud, Colo., Baker finished second on the team behind Maday with 36 stolen bases, which ranks second all-time for the program in a single season. In addition, the second baseman/outfielder led the Tritons with 43 runs scored, putting her fifth all-time for a single season. Baker was also an Academic All-District 8 selection by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for her combined performance on the field and in the classroom.
HEAD COACH PATTI GERCKENS EARNS HER 700TH CAREER VICTORY
Patti Gerckens is in her 26th season at the helm of the UC San Diego softball program in 2018 and with the two victories at Azusa Pacific on March 1, has now amassed 700 for her career. The winningest coach in program history, Gerckens led the Tritons to four straight NCAA postseason berths from 2011-14, beginning with back-to-back school-record 45-win seasons and appearances in the Division II championship game, the first of which brought UC San Diego its first softball title in 2011. The Tritons finished as national runners-up in her milestone 20th campaign in 2012. Gerckens has led Triton softball to 11 NCAA postseason appearances, with nine at the Division II level. UC SAN DIEGO TAKES THREE OF FOUR AT SAN FRANCISCO STATE
After splitting the first two games of the series, the Tritons swept two games on Saturday to win three of four road contests at San Francisco State last weekend ... Freshman pitcher Robyn Wampler threw complete-game shutouts on consecutive days, and came just one out away from throwing a no-hitter in Game 1 on Saturday. The Berkeley native struck out nine and allowed just two hits on Saturday for her fourth complete-game shutout of the season ... Offensively, senior Kelsi Maday finished 4-for-11 with three RBI in the four-game series, while junior third baseman Maddy Lewis went a combined 4-for-13 with three runs scored and two RBI.
Through 26 California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) contests, UC San Diego ranks first in the conference in batting average (.312) and second in ERA (2.19) ... The Tritons have allowed the second fewest hits in the CCAA as well as both the second fewest runs and earned runs ... UC San Diego has recorded a conference-leading 97 strikeouts and has given up just six home runs, which ranks second-best in the CCAA ... Freshman pitcher Robyn Wampler is tied for the CCAA's best ERA during conference play (1.52) and is second in both strike outs (74) and innings pitched (87.2).
Offensively, the Tritons rank second in the conference in hits (206), runs scored (138) and RBI (122) ... UC San Diego's 15 home runs rank third in CCAA play ... Senior outfielder Kelsi Maday leads the conference in batting average (.446), while freshman Sherriah Harrington ranks third (.436) ... Senior Kendall Baker leads the CCAA in runs scored (28), while freshman Bobbi Aguirre has a conference-best 30 RBI.

Overall this season, senior Kelsi Maday ranks tied for fifth in the conference in batting average (.414) and third in stolen bases (21) ... Freshman Bobbi Aguirre ranks second in RBI (33) and fourth in home runs (6) ... Freshman Sherriah Harrington is second in batting average (.453), slugging percentage (.792) and on-base percentage (.517) ... Senior Kendall Baker is third in runs scored (33) ... Freshman Robyn Wampler holds several top-five ranks as she is second in wins (16), ERA (1.48), strikeouts (99) and opponent batting-average (.210). The Berkeley native is also fourth in innings pitched (121.2) and third in complete games (12).

BIG (WEST) NEWS FOR UC SAN DIEGO ATHLETICS
On Nov. 27, UC San Diego was officially invited to become a member of the NCAA Division I Big West Conference. The Tritons will begin a four-year reclassification period starting in the fall of 2020. They will play a full Big West schedule that season and will be eligible for NCAA Championships in men's volleyball, men's and women's water polo, and fencing. For the 2024-25 academic year, all sports will be eligible to compete in Big West and NCAA Division I championships. Read the full press release here.

Following this week's action, UC San Diego returns to La Jolla for its final home series of the season. The Tritons play host to Stanislaus State for four games beginning on Friday, April 13, at 1 p.m., and will honor its seniors on Saturday, April 14 at 11 a.m.
