THE FORMAT
The 2018 California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Championships begin with two rounds (36 holes) of stroke play on Monday, April 23 with a third round (18 holes) of stroke play on Tuesday, April 24. Stroke play will determine the conference's individual champion. The four highest-finishing teams in the nine-team field advance to medal/match play semifinals on Tuesday afternoon. The semifinal winners go head-to-head in a medal/match play final on Wednesday, April 25, which will decide the league's team champion and automatic qualifier for the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships.

THE SEEDINGS
Seedings for the CCAA Championships are based on the latest GolfStat national rankings. Seeds 7-8-9, 4-5-6, and 1-2-3 compete in threesomes for two rounds of stroke play Monday and a final round of stroke play Tuesday. Here's how the seeds are grouped with each team's GolfStat ranking in parentheses.

THE COURSE
Founded in 1962, Butte Creek Country Club has long been recognized as one of the finest private clubs in the North Valley. Designed by the renowned golf course architect Bob Baldock, the course is long, open, and lined with mature oak trees. The Bermuda fairways facilitate year-round play and the greens are undulating, large, and well-maintained. The 7,000 yard, par-72 layout is sure to present a test for each of the three days of competition.

LAST YEAR AT INDUSTRY HILLS
UC San Diego finished ninth at last season's CCAA Championships, played at Industry Hills outside of Los Angeles. The Tritons went 302-318-311--931 (+79) over three rounds of stroke play.

The top ten teams and top four individuals not with a qualifying team will be selected from each of the NCAA's eight regions to compete in one of four 54-hole NCAA Regionals. The 2018 West/South Central Regional will be held May 7-9 at Tascosa Golf Club's La Paloma Course in Amarillo, Texas. The top three teams and top two individuals not with one of those teams from each Regional advance to the NCAA Championships, May 21-25 in Muscle Shoals, Ala.

THE CCAA AT THE NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
Three teams from the CCAA made it to the NCAA Championships finals last year - Cal State Monterey Bay, Cal State East Bay, and Stanislaus State, with the Otters tying for 10th in the final team standings. Individually, two Pioneers cracked the leaderboard's top 10 in the team's first appearance on the national stage. In 2016, Chico State was the team runner-up in match play, the Wildcats' 17th NCAA Championships appearance.
