TURLOCK, Calif. — The No. 6 University of California San Diego women’s basketball team kept its undefeated season alive on Saturday evening, earning a road victory over Stanislaus State, 78-65.

UC San Diego (14-0, 10-0 CCAA) has now won 20-consecutive California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) regular-season contests and 34 of its last 35 in conference play. In addition, the Tritons have won 19-straight road games and 17-consecutive CCAA road contests.

The 14-0 start to the season is the program’s best since winning 26 straight to begin the 2011-12 campaign. That year, the Tritons were ranked No. 1 in the nation and reached the NCAA West Region Final.

Senior guard Joleen Yang made four 3-pointers and finished with 21 points, while junior forward Mikayla Williams recorded her eighth double-double of the season with 19 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks.

Freshman guard Brianna Claros scored 12 points, including three 3-pointers, and junior forward Haleigh Hatfield finished with nine points and 14 rebounds.

Stanislaus State (3-11, 2-8) is the last CCAA team to defeat UC San Diego in the regular season. After the Tritons stormed out to a 23-11 lead after the first quarter and a 40-26 halftime advantage, the Warriors pulled within six, 52-46, heading into the fourth.

But UC San Diego showed resiliency like it has all season. Junior Stephanie Moore knocked down a 3-pointer to push the lead to nine, and a Claros layup off an assist from senior guard Kayla Sato made it 57-49 with 7:52 to play.

Claros followed with a three off a pass from Yang, and a Williams’ bucket inside put the Tritons in front comfortably, 63-50, with 6:59 to go.

The win sets up next weekend’s showdown against county foe Cal State San Marcos at Arena on Saturday, Jan. 19, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The two teams played a thrilling game in the first meeting on Dec. 1, as the Tritons pulled out the victory on a Julia Macabuhay buzzer beater.
