Friday's Men's Tennis Exhibition With Nevada Canceled
LA JOLLA, Calif. - The University of California San Diego men's tennis program's exhibition against NCAA Division I opponent Nevada, scheduled for this Friday morning, Jan. 18, at 9 a.m., has been canceled. The contest will not be made up.
That leaves UC San Diego with two more preparation opportunities in advance of its 2019 dual-match campaign. The Tritons will still host Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and Cerritos College in a pair of scrimmages on Saturday, Jan. 19, and Saturday, Jan. 26, respectively. Both of those start times are set for 11 a.m. Admission into Northview Tennis Courts is free, with parking also free on campus on weekends.
UC San Diego's season opener is still set for Saturday, Feb. 2, at future Big West Conference foe UC Irvine. That match will begin with doubles action at 12 p.m. at Anteater Tennis Stadium in Irvine. The Tritons' home opener on North Campus is not until Friday, Feb. 8, against fierce Division II West Region rival and 2018 national semifinalist Azusa Pacific starting at 3:30 p.m.
