Tritons Wrap Up Action at Bruin Diving Invitational

LOS ANGELES – The University of California San Diego No. 3 women’s diving team wrapped up competition at the Bruin Diving Invitational on Sunday afternoon. The Tritons competed against Division I divers from across the west, including UNLV, Air Force, San Jose State, UCLA, Hawaii, Cal, Stanford, Utah, San Diego State, Northern Arizona, Cal Baptist, USC, Pepperdine, Denver, Fresno State, and Cal Poly.

Brooke Abrantes had the Tritons’ best finish in the 1 meter preliminaries. With a 14.30 degree of difficulty, Abrantes tallied 222.30 points for 28th place, a top-half finish.

Teammates Delainey Carlin and Jasmyn Cheng claimed back-to-back slots in the event. Carlin, with a 14.00 degree of difficulty, picked up 184.35 points to finish 50th. Cheng followed closely behind, earning 177.70 points with a 14.30 degree of difficulty to claim 51st

Coming off of an injury, Patty Sullivan was the final Triton to compete on Sunday. Sullivan posted a score of 151.85 across her six dives, with a 13.30 degree of difficulty. 

The women will return to action on Feb. 2, as the Tritons host crosstown rival University of San Diego at noon at Canyonview Aquatic Center. Parking and admission are free.
