No. 16 Tritons' Doubleheader with No. 4 Chico State Canceled Due to Rain

CHICO, Calif. – The doubleheader between the No. 16 University of California San Diego softball team and No. 4 Chico State slated to begin at 11:30 a.m. this afternoon has been canceled due to rain. The games will not be rescheduled.

UC San Diego comes away with a two-game sweep of the Wildcats, winning game one on Sunday, 4-3 (nine innings), and game two, 3-2. With the victories, the Tritons moved into first place in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) standings. UC San Diego now holds an overall record of 20-6 and a conference record of 18-5, while Chico State stands at 18-7 on the season and 16-6 in CCAA play.

The Tritons will return to action later this week, taking part in the Tournament of Champions in Turlock. The action begins on Friday, as UC San Diego faces Northwest Nazarene at 9 a.m. and the Academy of Art at 11:30 a.m.
