Men's Water Polo Looks to Keep Momentum Going at California Baptist, Gary Troyer Tournament

LA JOLLA, Calif. – The No. 9 UC San Diego men’s water polo team will have a busy road slate and play its final regular season tournament in addition to a Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) game against California Baptist.

Pomona-Pitzer, Claremont-Mudd-Scripts and La Verne are the hosts of the Gary Troyer Tournament. UC San Diego will play at Pomona-Pitzer for the Whittier, Pomona and Fordham game. They will play Wagner at Claremont.


California Baptist were selected to finish fourth in the WWPA Preseason Poll. The Lancers are 4-7 on the season with six of their seven losses to ranked opponents. Logan Mena and and Zach Lowery have both picked up weekly WWPA honors this season.


The Tritons went 3-1 at the SoCal Invitational and finished ninth overall. Their weekend was highlighted by a 12-11 victory in double sudden death over No. 9 UC Davis. Cooper Milton’s game winning goal in the game was his fourth of the game and set a new career high.


With one more goal, Connor Turnbow-Lindenstadt will crack the top ten in all time goals. Skyler Munatones needs two more assists to reach the top ten career assist list.
