Lesovsky Named Louisville Slugger/NFCA and Daktronics All-American

LA JOLLA, Calif. ? UC San Diego sophomore outfielder Kristyn Lesovsky put the finishing touches on a stellar first season with the Tritons, earning both Louisville Slugger/NFCA and Daktronics First Team All-American honors on Thursday. Lesovsky, who led the CCAA in batting in 2009, is the first Triton to be named All-American since Amy Mettee in 2002.

A native of Simi Valley, Calif., Lesovksy guided UCSD to a 30-25 overall record and a third straight NCAA West Regional appearance after transferring from Florida Tech. She finished the season batting .446 with 42 runs, 17 doubles, eight homers, 32 RBI, 44 walks, a .565 on-base percentage, and a slugging percentage of .693. She led the team in virtually every offensive category, set the UCSD single season batting mark, and her 74 hits rank second only to Mettee's 78 in 2002.

Lesovsky ranked fourth in the nation in walks per game (.80) in 2009, while her on-base percentage ranked eighth.

She was voted the CCAA Newcomer of the Year last month and was named the Daktronics West Region Player of the Year on May 13.

The Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-American teams were selected by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA), while the Daktronics All-Americans were voted on by the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
