LA JOLLA, Calif.
? UC San Diego senior
Jill Peacock capped
her incredible four-year career with UCSD women's crew by being named to the Collegiate
Rowing Coaches Association Pocock All-American team.
The senior from Nevada City
helped the Tritons end their season with a third-place finish at the Pacific
Coast Rowing Championships. Peacock was
also instrumental in leading the varsity eight to a second place finish at the
UC Irvine/Long Beach State Regatta, stroking her first race during the event.
During her four years with
the UCSD rowing program, Peacock helped the Tritons to national runner-up
finishes in 2007 and 2008. She was also
part of the second place Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association and Pacific
Coast Rowing Championships varsity eight boats during her junior season.
The CRCA Pocock All-American team recognizes the outstanding
performances of NCAA Division II rowers and coxswains. This year's All-America team features just
ten spots, with selection based on strength of schedule, regular season record,
end-of-season regatta results, nomination rank, coach's comments, and 2,000
meter erg scores.
