The UC San Diego Department of Athletics is committed to actively participating in the community through a variety of outreach events and services. Student-athletes from 23 sports participate in a wide range of service and outreach programs in and around the San Diego area and beyond.

- March 21, 2013 - UCSD Athletics has partnered with the Athletic Initiative program to connect underserved San Diego youth with role models
- January 22, 2013 - Rick Reilly of ESPN.com writes about former Triton Vance Albitz and his Gloves4Troops campaign
- December 21, 2012 - Former Triton baseball standout Vance Albitz started Gloves4Troops.com, which donates baseball gloves to soldiers (story by Quinn Roberts of MLB.com)
- October 28, 2012 - The UCSD women's crew team holds the 11th Annual Row for the Cure
- May 28-June 10, 2012 - Former soccer player Annette Ilg spent time in Kenya providing village residents with medical care, housing and education
- April 9-May 2, 2012 - Members of the UCSD swimming & diving team teach swimming lessons to sixth grade students from the Preuss School
- February 18, 2012 - Men's volleyball hosts a free clinic with Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County
- January 11, 2012 - UCSD Athletics sponsors 12th annual Blood Drive
- December 14, 2011 - The men's and women's swimming & diving teams visted patients at the VA Hospital during the holiday season
