Savage has been an integral part of the development of SoCal Volleyball Club. She has coached 10 teams for SoCal and has run several camps in the summer. Savage has also coached at the high school level.

Savage played for current UCSD head coach, Ricci Luyties, at Southern Mississippi as a middle blocker/outsider hitter. As a senior in 2007, she started 33 of the team's 34 matches and was third on the roster with 253 kills. Savage totaled 90 blocks, the second most on the team. As a junior, she led the Golden Eagles in blocks with 120 and posted 13 matches with double digit kills and 15 matches with four or more blocks.

Prior to Southern Mississippi, Savage played at Palomar College in San Marcos where she was two-year letterwinner for coach Karl Seiler. A two-time first team all-conference selection, she started every match at middle blocker. In 2005, Savage led the Pacific Coast Conference in blocks (1.14 per set) and ranked in the top five in kills (252) and the top three in hitting percentage (.342).

Savage was a four-year letterwinner and First Team All-CIF pick at San Dieguito Academy in Encinitas for coach Dexter Harvey. She also picked up team MVP and first team all-league accolades and was named to the San Diego Union Tribune All-Academic First Team. Savage played in the 2004 San Diego All-Star Game and competed on the club level for Hard Rock Volleyball Club and Solana Beach Volleyball Club.

Savage, who earned a Bachelor's Degree in sport coaching education from Southern Miss in 2008, resides in Encinitas with her husband David and their son Charles.
