ALL-TIME VS. THE WOLVES
UCSD holds a successful 7-2 program record and .778 winning percentage when meeting up with WOU. The squads last met April 2, 2011 at the Tournament of Champions in Turlock, Calif.

SCOUTING WOU
The Wolves welcome first-year head coach Lonny Sargent this season as the squad comes off a 23-36 overall record in 2012, and 19-17 in the GNAC conference. The Wolves faced CCAA opponents in six different occasions last season, finishing with a 1-5 record as they posted a 3-2 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills.

TRITONS IN SEASON OPENERS
When it comes to season opening series', the Tritons have come out hot with a 10-2 record the past four seasons. This includes appearences in the Best of the West Invitational, Notre Dame de Namur and most recently a sweep over Northwest Nazarene University.

CCAA PLAY
Conference play is just around the corner for the Tritons as they host Cal State San Bernardino for the first half of its series on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at Triton Softball Field. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. Action continues with the Coyotes as CSUSB returns to La Jolla Saturday, Feb. 9. Doubleheader action is set to begin at noon.

GLANCE BACK AT 2012
In 2012, the Tritons won 45 games for the second year in a row, matching the school record set in 2011. UCSD went 10-4 in the NCAA Tournament and won the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Tournament title for the first time in program history. Head Coach Patti Gerckens' squad survived nine consecutive elimination games during the tournament run prior to the national championship game, where they met up with Valdosta State, dropping a heartbreaking 4-1 decision to the Blazers for the national title.

CATCH 'EM WHILE YOU CAN

Although this season features 36 regular season games, the Tritons will only play to a home crowd eight days this year. This begins this Friday with the series against Western Oregon, and CCAA play will begin right next week. Your last opportunity to watch UCSD softball play on campus is March 29-30 when they host San Francisco State in a two-day series.
