NO. 13 CAL STATE NORTHRIDGE
The two teams have already met three times this season; UC Santa Barbara Winter Invitational, Triton Invite and UC Irvine Invitational. The Matadors took each contest by two or more goals. CSUN is currently 13-6 on the season. Before meeting UCSD Saturday morning, they host Bucknell and Occidental in round robin play on Thursday, Mar. 14.
Lindsy Nelson leads CSUN with 41 goals, with a .771 shooting percentage. Kelcie Ferreira leads the Matadors in both assists (29) and steals (39). In the goal, Kiernan Davis has seen the majority of playing time, tallying 152 saves, averaging 8.79 per game. Davis also averages giving up 8.04 goals per game, with 139 goals against her.
NO. 16 UC DAVIS
UC Davis (10-9) is coming off a pair of devastating loses as they opened conference play against Cal State Northridge and UC Santa Barbara. The Tritons met up with the Aggies at the UCI Invite on Feb. 23, falling 12-13 in a sudden victory overtime match. The Tritons posted a spread offense, with Alexis Wieseler, Julia Kirkland, Sarah Lizotte and Jolene Guiliana all posting two goals apiece while Rachel Brooks and Melissa Bartow each chipped in one respectively. The Aggies were led by junior Hannah Curran with six goals.
NO. 11 INDIANA
The Tritons hold a 7-5 all-time program record when matched up against the Hoosiers. Indiana is coming off a 4-0 record at the Claremont Convergence, as they also recorded wins over Cal Lutheran and Claremont Mudd-Scripps like UCSD. Indiana also saw victories over Occidental and University of Redlands. The Hoosiers (11-8) will play a pair of games at Cal Baptist as part of the Lancer Invite on Friday, Mar. 15 before traveling down to San Diego.
The Bison currently hold a 3-9 overall record. Coming off a 10-3 loss to No. 9 Long Beach on Tuesday, Mar. 12, Bucknell will head to Northridge to play the hosting Matadors and Occidental before heading to SDSU. The Bison open tournament play taking on the hosting Aztec's and No. 8 Hawaii on Saturday. They will have a rematch with CSUN to open Sunday and then close out the weekend with UCSD.
AROUND THE WWPA
Week nine of the season will see four conference games, starting with Cal State East Bay's trip to Sonoma State on Friday, March 15 at 12:30 pm. The other three will all take place at LMU as the Lions host a tripleheader on Saturday. It starts with No. 14 LMU facing Colorado State at 9 am, followed by the Rams taking on CSU San Bernardino at 12 noon. The Coyotes will then take on the Lions at 3 pm, all at the Burns Aquatics Center.

RETURN TO THE WIN COLUMN
The Tritons came away with a perfect 4-0 weekend last week at the Claremont Convergence. This marks the first weekend of the season UCSD has come away with a perfect winning record. The Tritons now sit at 10-8 overall as they enter two key weeks against fellow nationally ranked opponents, both at the Aztec Invitational and the Hawaii Spring Break Tournament (Mar. 28-31).
STEADY AS SHE GOES
The most recent CWPA National rankings came out on Wednesday, Mar. 13 and revealed that UCSD remains No. 17 among the nations top Division I programs. This marks the fourth straight week the Tritons have been listed at No. 17, as they started the season sitting at the number 19 spot.
Freshman goalie Courtney Miller broke into the 100's at the UC Irvine Invitational on Feb. 23-24, knocking down 39 saves to bring her season total up to 110. Miller added another 20 with games against Loyola Marymount and UC Irvine at home on Mar. 1 and 3 to bring her season total to 130. After four games at the Claremont Convergence, Miller now leads the WWPA with 152 saves. With two-thirds of the season remaining, Miller could possibly break into the programs Single-Season top 10.
ALL AROUND PRESENCE
Jolene Guiliana leads the team in both assists and steals, at 30 and 32 respectively. These marks also rank her in the top three among the leading WWPA performers as she now leads the conference in the assists category.
HIGH FIRING DUO
Both Sarah Lizotte and Alexis Wieseler have shown hot shooting this season as they both sit as leading scorers for the Tritons. The hard work has payed off, as they have each received the UC San Diego Player of the Week award as well as KAP7 WWPA Player of the Week honors. Lizotte earned her second conference honor on Wednesday, Mar. 13 as she was named Co-Player of the Week for her play over the weekend in Claremont. Lizzote previously earned the WWPA weekly award on Jan. 30 after the Tritons went 3-1 at the UC Santa Barbara Winter Invite to open the 2013 campaign. Wieseler received hers on Mar. 7 after leading UCSD with seven goals in the exciting victory over Loyola Marymount.
UCSD has played 12 of its 18 games on the road this season, and shown relative success going 8-4 at both away and neutral locations. The Tritons will play at Canyonview Pool again on April 11 hosting Long Beach State and will complete their home schedule on April 19 hosting WWPA opponent Cal State San Bernardino.
